Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Full text linkThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. regiões do mundo. Sendo um setor importante a nível económico, é do interesse de cada região
atrair um número crescente de turistas. Neste contexto competitivo é necessário criar produtos
turísticos que chamem à atenção de potenciais turistas, para os levar a viajar para o destino em
causa.
O presente relatório descreve o estágio curricular realizado no último semestre do
Mestrado em Tradução e Comunicação Multilíngue com a entidade Turismo de Guimarães.
Começaremos por contextualizar o tema do estágio teoricamente, faremos um breve
enquadramento teórico e conceptual do turismo, do texto turístico e da tradução turística. Numa
segunda parte, apresentaremos a entidade de estágio e os objetivos propostos para o período de
estágio. Por fim, procederemos a uma descrição detalhada do estágio, bem como das tarefas
desenvolvidas e faremos uma análise das traduções efetuadas.Tourism has grown exponentially in recent decades in virtually every region of the world.
Being an economically important sector, it is in the interest of each region to attract an increasing
number of tourists. In this competitive context it is necessary to create tourism products that attract
the attention of potential tourists, in order to persuade them to travel to the destination in question.
This report describes the curricular internship carried out during the last semester of the
master’s degree in Translation and Multilingual Communication with the entity Turismo de
Guimarães. We will start by contextualising the subject of the internship theoretically, presenting a
brief theoretical and conceptual framework of tourism, the tourist text and tourism translation. In
a second part, we will present the internship entity and the objectives proposed for the internship
period. Finally, we will proceed to a detailed description of the internship, as well as the carried out
tasks, and an analysis of the translations completed during the internship
O papel da tradução no desenvolvimento turístico das cidades
Full text linkRelatório de estágio de mestrado em Tradução e Comunicação MultilingueEste relatório, realizado no âmbito do Mestrado em Tradução e Comunicação Multilingue,
decorre do estágio curricular realizado no Posto de Turismo de Guimarães pertencente à Divisão
de Turismo da Câmara Municipal de Guimarães. O principal objetivo é contextualizar e analisar as
atividades realizadas ao longo de quatro meses, sendo elas a tradução de documentos turísticos,
o atendimento ao público e a dinamização de atividades no Posto de Turismo.
Assim sendo, pretende-se enquadrar conceitos como Tradução, Turismo e Comunicação
Multilingue de forma a sustentar as atividades realizadas no decorrer do estágio, apresentar a
entidade acolhedora, as funções desempenhadas pela mesma, seguindo-se uma abordagem
teórica sobre o papel da tradução no desenvolvimento turístico das cidades, sendo a cidade de
Guimarães o objeto de estudo.
O presente relatório visa apresentar, ainda, uma experiência bastante enriquecedora e
positiva do estágio curricular que conferiu trabalho nas minhas principais áreas de interesse: a
tradução e o turismo.This report, written as part of the Master's in Translation and Multilingual Communication,
is the result of a curricular internship carried out at the Guimarães Tourism Office, part of the
Tourism Division of Guimarães City Hall. The main purpose is to contextualize and analyze the
activities carried out over four months, namely the translation of tourism documents, customer
service, and the promotion of activities at the Tourism Office.
Therefore, it is intended to frame concepts such as Translation, Tourism and Multilingual
Communication to support the activities carried out during the internship, to present the host entity,
the functions performed by it, followed by a theoretical approach on the role of translation in the
tourist development of cities, with the city of Guimarães as the object of study.
This report also aims to present a very enriching and positive curricular internship
experience that provided work in my main areas of interest: translation and tourism
