Il volume fornisce una sintesi dei principali aspetti problematici dei carmi latini epigrafici rinvenuti nelle province africane, un complesso imponente di circa 600 testi, che di per sé fornisce documento efficace dell’importanza di tali province nell’assetto dell’Impero. Esame di temi ricorrenti, esegesi di singoli carmi particolarmente significativi o di blocchi unitari di carmi, indagine su elementi compositivi, per esempio l’acrostico, sono questi alcuni dei punti toccati. Cura particolare viene posta nell’indagine sulla distribuzione geografica dei carmi africani (cui corrisponde una distribuzione della ‘cultura’ latina dell’area africana), sugli aspetti sociali e, più ancora, su quelli linguistici e metrici dei testi

Myopericarditis in a Male Adolescent Following the Second Shot of COVID-19 Pfizer m-RNA Vaccine: Typical Example and Analysis of 110 Single Case Reports
One of the most powerful weapons against COVID-19 is vaccines. After the worldwide spread of the disease, m-RNA vaccines were authorized not only in adult patients, but also in children and adolescents aged 12–18. Since then, alarming reports of cases of myocarditis and/or pericarditis have been noted, primarily involving males after the second vaccine shot. A typical example of myopericarditis occurring in an adolescent a few days after the second shot of an m-RNA vaccine is described here. An in-depth review of all 110 single case reports published up to July 2022 with related features and outcomes is also presented. This is the first extensive analysis focused solely on a significant number of single case reports, which have usually been excluded from systematic reviews and meta-analyses carried out in the field. The analysis presented here confirms that most cases occurred in males after the second injection of an m-RNA vaccine. Cases were mild and responsive to the usual medical treatment. What is newly reported is that not only adolescents, but also older people, especially females, were affected by this adverse event

Fully-textile polymer-based ECG electrodes: Overcoming the limits of metal-based textiles
In recent years, there has been a particular interest in wearable electronics for electrocardiogram (ECG) recording. The ultimate goal is the integration of both sensors and electronics in clothes, for both clinical and non-clinical use. To date, textile ECG electrodes have been mainly based on the use of conductive metal fibers woven or stitched on a finished substrate. In this work, textiles electrodes for ECG are obtained by treating finished fabrics with the conductive organic polymer poly-3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene doped with poly(styrene sulfonate) (PEDOT:PSS). Compared to previous works based on the treatment of a whole piece of fabric by immersion in the PEDOT:PSS solution, the adoption of a novel screen printing technique enables to achieve good definition and control over the quantity of deposited polymer. The proposed fabrication approach compares favorably with the previous one. A small trial with 10 subjects, aimed to record 12-lead ECG traces with clinical instrumentation, revealed the capability of the proposed electrodes to accurately capture the ECG signal morphology with performance comparable to off-the-shelf disposable gelled Ag/AgCl electrodes
