Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Get PDFEn el presente estudio de caso se ejecuta un análisis profundo de los elementos para que opere el proceso ejecutivo dentro de lo procesal civil, la línea de investigación está enfocada en el estudio de la obligación clara, pura, determinada y actualmente exigible del título ejecutivo, y del contrato de mutuo acuerdo o consumo como título ejecutivo; para la procedencia el mencionado procedimiento.
Es importante la realización del presente estudio de caso por cuanto, se estudia a varias figuras del derecho civil y procesal civil como lo son el contrato de mutuo y las obligaciones. Al celebrar un contrato como lo dice la definición de éste las partes que intervienen se obligan entre sí, así las obligaciones civiles según el Código Civil Ecuatoriano son las que dan derecho para exigir su cumplimiento.
Los contratos en materia civil se encuentran determinados en cuanto a las obligaciones y a los actos de declaración de voluntad de las partes contratantes. Siendo la materia civil de estricta aplicación en materia privada, rige en ellos la voluntad de las partes constituida de acuerdo a lo establecido en el Artículo 1561 del C.C., es una ley para los contratantes, esta disposición como un efecto de las obligaciones.
Del mismo modo dentro del derecho privado constan las acciones ejecutivas, que como en este caso se originan por el contrato de mutuo o préstamo que al ser un documento reconocido legalmente se convierte en un título ejecutivo.
Es significativo realizar al análisis en el ámbito procesal de la procedencia de la acción ejecutiva, en el sentido de que la ley obliga a que los jueces analicen la acción que es la demanda y el titulo conjuntamente, y esto se debe, a que en este tipo de juicios generalmente no se adentra la cuestión de fondo, de las relaciones de carácter jurídico, lo que pretende esta vía, es hacer efectivo lo que consta en dicho título, que como menciona la ley posee fuerza ejecutoria. El juicio ejecutivo, como se establece en el Código procesal es de carácter sumario, es decir es un proceso que ha de ser corto, y no extenso, se sustenta en la celeridad procesal, no es extenso como un ordinario porque aquí se pretende hacer efectivo un documento con fuerza compulsiva especial.
Es por esta razón la exigencia de calificar el título y el mismo procede tal como lo determina el Artículo 348 del Código Orgánico General de Procesos, (COGEP). Es importante destacar que las obligaciones pueden tener diferentes fuentes, en el presente caso la obligación se encuentra contenido en el contrato de mutuo.
El Artículo 347 del Código Orgánico General de Procesos, (COGEP) determina: “Títulos ejecutivos. Son títulos ejecutivos siempre que contengan obligaciones de dar o hacer… (…) 3. Documentos privados legalmente reconocidos o reconocidos por decisión judicial”. El documento base de esta acción es el contrato de mutuo que contiene un contrato es ley para las partes.
El presente estudio de caso, a más de hacer un análisis respecto del contrato de mutuo como título ejecutivo, también se basa en analizar a la administración de Justicia, pues, si bien es cierto, en los estudios de caso no se busca analizar la actuación de un Juez, no es menos cierto que con las actuaciones de éstos, cuando no lo hacen en derecho, se vulneran derechos y garantías.
Los operadores de Justicia, han de actuar según se los ordena la Constitución y la ley, para que se respete el derecho de las partes y las garantías que otorga la Norma Suprema. También se hace un enfoque a la valoración de la prueba en este proceso, que también, directamente tiene elación con los jueces

Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
