A lexicon for Italian cinema: A conversation about history, theory and critique
This article represents the outcome of a round table organized and conducted by Giacomo Tagliani about the Lessico del cinema Italiano/Lexicon of Italian Cinema (2014–2016). This research and editorial project comprises three volumes and 21 entries that address the history of Italian cinema through an original and challenging approach, namely to detect a list of conceptual clusters able to provide new perspectives over the heritage of Italian films. In this refined version, the authors who took part in that round table, that is, Roberto De Gaetano (also editor of the volumes), Massimiliano Coviello, Luca Venzi and Francesco Zucconi, outline their involvement in the research project, their specific methodological references, their peculiar vision of the history of Italian cinema and eventually their point of view onto its current situation. This written conversation offers a broad survey of Lessico’s key aspects and addresses important methodological, theoretical and critical issues, trying to establish an interdisciplinary dialogue among different fields of studies
A complete behavioral system model for a novel phase shifter technique
A complete and behavioral system model of a digital phase shifter architecture is presented. The comparison with experimental results makes the model the ideal instrument for virtual prototyping and debugging of the entire architecture propose
A study on the phase errors distributions in phased array systems based on a behavioural model of radiation-pattern characteristics
A study on the impact of the phase errors distribution on the performances of the phased array systems has been produced using a complete and behavioral model for radiation-pattern characteristics. The study has shown how the phase errors distribution actually affects the performances demonstrating that the rms phase error is a valuable figure of merit of phased array systems but it is not sufficient to completely describe the behavior of a real system. The used model has many input parameters and it has a lot of features, such as parameter simulations with results analysis, unconventional two-dimensional color graph representation capability in order to show more clearly the results. The results of the study demonstrating the previous considerations have been reported
Novel IC wideband Distributed Voltage Controlled Oscillator with double tuning for multi-band applications
New robust behavioral non-uniform Look-Up Table spacing in adaptive digital baseband pre-distortion technique for RF Power Amplifier
A Novel 2.4GHz High-Resolution and Low-Power Phased Array Transmitter
A new approach to design a low-power high phase resolution phased array transmitter is presented. The proposed approach uses a PLL configuration that is able to perform simultaneously the LO-path phase shifting and the up conversion. A 2.4GHz 7-bit phased array transmitter is reported, with a 0.5° measured worst-case RMS phase error in the band of synthesis. The reported experimental results perfectly match the theoretical ones validating the architecture potentialities
Low-power Tx module for high-resolution continuous programmable phase shift
A novel phase shifter topology for digital phased antenna arrays based on a low-power phase control block joint with an innovative PLL design is presented. Experimental results obtained by a prototype are reported validating the architecture capabilitie
The role of phase errors distributions in Phased Array Systems operations
A comprehensive study on the role of the phase errors distribution on the performances of the phased array systems has been led using a complete and behavioral model for radiation-pattern characteristics. The used model has many input parameters and it has a lot of features, such as parameters simulations with results analysis, unconventional two-dimensional color graph representation capability in order to show more clearly the results. The results of the study have been discussed and reported. The main achievement of this work is the demonstration that the RMS phase error is a valuable figure of merit of phased array systems but it is not sufficient to completely describe the behavior of a real system. Indeed, this work has shown how the phase errors distribution actually affects the performances of the phased arrays antennas
