El Instituto de Psicología Experimental y los comienzos de la psicología en la Universidad Nacional de Cuyo (Mendoza)
Get PDFSe analiza la trayectoria del Instituto de Psicología Experimental en la Universidad Nacional de Cuyo de la provincia de Mendoza, desde su inicio en 1941 en la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras hasta su traspaso en 1946 a la Facultad de Medicina de la misma universidad. En este instituto se realizaron cinco publicaciones, entre las cuales se encontró la primera tipificación del test de Raven. Su promotor y director fue Horacio Rimoldi hasta 1946, cuando asumió la dirección Amadeo Cicchitti, de allí en mas el instituto sufre sucesivas transformaciones cambiando desde su denominación hasta su pertenencia.The trajectory of the Institute of Experimental Psychology is analyzed in the Cuyo National University of Mendoza's province, from its beginning in 1941 in the faculty of Philosophy and Letters until its transfer in 1946 to the faculty of Medicine of the same university. Get PDFEn el presente trabajo se analizan las implicaciones históricas y epistemológicas del Instituto de Psicología Experimental de la Universidad Nacional de Cuyo y sus publicaciones, a partir del trabajo realizado por su director el Doctor Horacio Rimoldi. Las influencias del Doctor Rimoldi se basaban en ciencias como la biología, psicología y matemáticas, en las que se había formado en su profesión como médico y en su posterior perfeccionamiento en Inglaterra en psicología experimental y análisis factorial. Sus publicaciones recorren una vasta aplicación en temas laborales, educacionales e intelectuales como referidos a déficit psicomotrices. Todos analizados a partir de una estricta metodología y medición psicológica, donde incorpora sistemas de correlaciones y análisis factorial muy novedosos como complejos, sin olvidar de corresponderlos con datos subjetivos y problemas emocionales como también, aquellos relacionados con el factor etario y sexual. El factor educativo, en sus publicaciones, ha sido un factor preponderante al momento de correlacionar e interpretar las diferencias en el rendimiento entre la población originaria del test (casi siempre proveniente de países anglosajones) como la obtenida en ArgentinaIn this work, the historical and epistemological foundations of the publications edited by the Instituto de Psicología Experimental (Institute of Experimental Psychology) of Universidad Nacional de Cuyo (Argentina) are analyzed. The study is based on the production of its Senior Director, Doctor Horacio Rimoldi. Rimoldi’s scientific conceptions were influenced by sciences such as biology, psychology and mathematics, which he had learnt both in his medical profession and in his later studies in England in experimental psychology and factorial analysis. His main publications covered both applied psychology in industrial-organizational and in educational settings as well as research works on psychometric deficits. In this paper, his works are analyzed by a strict methodology based on very original and complex correlation measurements and factorial analysis. He also related the data to personal information such as age and gender, and affective troubles. In his publications, the educational variable has been a predominant factor when correlating and interpreting the differences in academic performance between the populations of the tests (mostly AngloSaxon countries and Argentina).Fil: Calabresi, Corina Valeria. Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.
