Guillem Godi, Si·l gen cors d’estieu es remas (BdT 219.1)
This article offers a new edition, based on Occitan Chansonnier R, of the canso-sirventes Si·l gen cors d’estieu es remas by the troubadour Guillem Godi. Moving from a textual and documentary analysis, as well as a material-philological perspective, the lectura proposes a later date for the composition (late 13th-early 14th century); moreover, a possible identification of the author with the cardinal Guillem de Peire Godin (1260-1336) is cautiously suggested

L’Istoria di Sant'Ursula di Antoni di Oliveri. Sul contesto e il testimone di un'agiografia in volgare siciliano del XV secolo
The Istoria di sant’Ursula by Antoni d’Oliveri from Catania is among the texts published by Giuseppe Cusimano in the two inaugural volumes of the «Collezione di testi siciliani dei secoli XIV e XV». This hagiographic work is a Sicilian ottava-rima cantare dated to 1471 and is preserved in the late fifteenth-century manuscript Palermo, Biblioteca Comunale, 2 Qq B 91. This article examines the Istoria within the context of fifteen-century Sicilian literature. In particular, it shows how the attention to Saint Ursula, one of the most popular Breton saints, and her legend is not fortuitous from the point of view of both the history of piety and the mentality of medieval Sicily. This argument is supported by two closely related approaches: first, it is demonstrated by the analysis, from a ‘material’ perspective, of the production and use of religious codices and miscellanies in fifteenth-century Sicily; finally, it is placed within the context of a renovated devotion to saints (and specifically of Saint Ursula), which appears to be interconnected with a sociocultural climate that aimed to edify a rising aristocratic and bourgeois class
Dagli "Acta Pilati" all’"Evangelium Nicodemi", dall’"Evangelium Nicodemi" a "Sens et razos d’una escriptura". Sulla fonte principale del "Vangelo occitano di Nicodemo"
The article studies the Evangelium Nicodemi (Gospel of Nicodemus), a successful apocryphal about Christ’s Passion and Resurrection. Actually, the interest generated by the Gospel of Nicodemus is determined not only by the fortune of the work but also by the completely current problematic of its text and of its historical placing. From a point of view that concerns more the Medieval Studies than the Classical Studies, and that pertains more the Romance Studies (the Occitan ones particularly) than the Apocryphal Studies, the article intends to update the critical panorama about the Evangelium Nicodemi. Particularly, it focuses on the Romance tradition of the text and it makes the Medieval Latin tradition of the Nicodemian apocryphal the necessary starting point for defining the main source of the Occitan poem Sens e razos d’una escriptura, better known as ‘Occitan Gospel of Nicodemus’
La letteratura apocrifa in lingua d’oc sub specie traditionis: i manoscritti Paris, BnF, fr. 1745 e London, BL, Harley 7403
This article aims to present the very first results of a work in fieri: the inventory and examination of all Occitan manuscripts reporting texts (or textual extracts) of an apocryphal nature. It is a project entitled "La letteratura apocrifa in lingua d’oc sub specie traditionis: dai testi ai manoscritti, dai manoscritti al corpus". In particular, after a brief allusion to some manuscript witnesses involved in the corpus of apocrypha in langue d’oc, the contribution mainly focuses on two examples of miscellanies: the ms. BnF, fr. 1745 and the ms. BL, Harley 7403. Thus, by analyzing the content and by relating the texts and manuscripts themselves, we try not only to rethink the history and geography of the codices, but also to highlight the environments of production, reception and use of the manuscripts
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
"Sens e razos d'una escriptura". La teatralità del meraviglioso nel Vangelo occitano di Nicodemo
The article presents the results of the study of Marvelous in the Occitan poem Sens e razos d’una escriptura. The poem opens with a translation in 2144 verses of the Evangelium Nicodemi; it then proceeds to relate the story of the Antichrist and a list of the Fifteen Signs which are to precede the Last Judgement. Beside an ‘objective marvelous’ (the so-called ‘Christian Marvelous’), basing on the investigation of the vocabulary the author identifies a form of ‘theatrical marvelous’, exemplified in the tales (miracula and exempla) embedded in the text. Therefore, the apocryphal source proves to be a great tool for new reflections on the medieval merveilleux
