No full textTämän diplomityön aiheena oli CIDA-avaruusinstrumentin (Comet and Interstellar Dust Analyzer) ohjelmistovaatimusten määrittely.
Työ suoritettiin Euroopan avaruusjärjestön standardoiman menettelytavan mukaisesti ja siihen kuului käyttäjävaatimusten, ohjelmistovaatimusten ja ohjelmiston arkkitehtuurin määrittely.
Lisäksi työssä ehdotettiin instrumentin datan tallennusstrategia sekä hahmoteltiin instrumentin maatuki- ja testauslaitteiston toimintamalli.
CIDA on yksi NASA:n Stardust-hankkeen instrumenteista.
Stardust-hanke on tarkoitus laukaista vuonna 1999 ja sen päätarkoitus on kerätä näytteitä Wild 2 -komeettaa ympäröivästä pölypilvestä ja palauttaa näytteet Maahan.
Lisäksi pölypilveä on tarkoitus tutkia CIDA-instrumentilla.
CIDA on lentoaikamassaspektrometri, joka mittaa komeetan pölypilven hiukkasten ionikoostumusta määrittämällä ionien massat niiden lentoajan perusteella.
CIDA:n paikan päällä tekemät mittaukset varmistavat, että tietoa saadaan myös sellaisista hiukkasista, jotka eivät selviydy näytteiden keräysprosessista, ja joita ei sen vuoksi voida palauttaa Maahan tutkittaviksi.
CIDA:n ohjelmiston suunnittelu aloitettiin käyttäjävaatimusten määrittelyllä.
Käyttäjävaatimuksissa määriteltiin ne tehtävät, joiden suorittamiseen ohjelmistoa tarvitaan.
Seuraavassa vaiheessa määriteltiin ohjelmistovaatimukset, eli mitä ohjelmiston on tehtävä toteuttaakseen käyttäjävaatimukset.
Ohjelmiston arkkitehtuurin suunnitteluvaiheessa ohjelmisto jaettiin komponentteihin ja kunkin komponentin tehtävät sekä rajapinnat muihin komponentteihin määriteltiin.
Seuraava vaihe, eli ohjelmiston yksityiskohtainen suunnittelu ja koodaus (ei sisälly tähän työhön), perustuu ohjelmiston arkkitehtuurin määrittelyyn.
CIDA-instrumentille suunniteltiin myös ehdotus mitatun tiedon tallennusstrategiaksi.
Strategian oli oltava sellainen, että kaikkien komeetan ohituksen vaiheiden aikana mitatusta tiedosta saadaan mahdollisimman paljon talteen rajalliseen massamuistiin.
Strategian suunnitteluun kuului yhtenä osana Wild 2 -komeetan pölyvuon estimointi.
