Oportunidades y amenazas para la Argentina en el comercio Sur-Sur
No full textThe South-South trade offers a wide spectrum of opportunities for developing countries, given the complementary feature existing and the underexploitation of trade among the economies in the hemisphere. For the purpose of taking advantage of those opportunities, in June 2004, the third round of negotiations of the Global System of Trade Preferences (Sistema Global de Preferencias Comerciales - GSTP) among Developing Countries, a mechanism created by the G-77 in 1982 to promote the South-South trade, was launched in Sao Paulo (UNCTAD XI United Nations Conference on Trade and Development). In this paper, the impact that a broadening of the GSTP agreement may have on the Argentine trade is estimated by using different approaches: i) quantification of the trade that is currently performed under the generalized system of trade preferences (GSTP) among developing countries (PEDs); ii) general equilibrium estimation of the impact of a liberalization of trade among developing countries; iii) analysis of the trade complementarity among the GSTP countries; and iv) partial equilibrium estimation of the impact of a liberalization of trade among developing countries in such key sectors as agriculture, textile, among others
Status and perspectives of the MEG experiment
No full textWe present the status and the perspectives of the MEG experiment which has been searching for the Lepton Flavour Violating decay μ+ → e+γ for several years. In a dataset corresponding to 3.6 × 1014 positive muons stopped on target we didn’t find any evidence for this decay and established an upper bound on the μ+ → e+γ branching ratio of 5.7 × 10−13 at 90% C.L., with a sensitivity of 7.7 × 10−13, which improves our world best limit by a factor of 4 and the best previous limit by a factor of 20. Our final dataset is about twice as large than the analyzed sample and the expected final sensitivity of the experiment is ∼ 5 × 10−13. We also discuss the status of the upgrade of the experiment (MEGII) which aims to improve the sensitivity by a further order of magnitude

Circularly polarized luminescence of helicenes: A data‐informed insight
No full textHelicenes are an interesting scaffold for chiroptical properties and in particular circularly polarized luminescence (CPL). In this short review, we collect the luminescence (g(lum)) and absorption (g(abs)) dissymmetry factors associated to the first Cotton effect of the electronic circular dichroism (ECD) spectrum. Considering the data for 170 [n]-helicenes (n = 4-11), overall we found reasonable correlations between g(lum) and g(abs). Despite a few notable exceptions, this would confirm a similarity in the stereochemistry of the ground and emitting excited states for most helicenes. These results may be useful in rationalizing chiroptical data and help chemists in designing new helicene structures with the desired CPL properties
