Valutazione dei costi per la realizzazione della configurazione originale della Facility SPES-3 presso la SIET – Parte B
Viene presentata una dettagliata valutazione economica per le attività e gli approvvigionamenti necessari per il completamento della facilility sperimentale SPES-3, progettata per la ricerca su reattori nucleari innovativi di tipo SMR (Small Modular Reactor). Il completamento della facility SPES-3 consentirebbe di disporre di uno strumento di assoluto valore internazionale per la ricerca /sviluppo e certificazione di sicurezza di questa filiera di reattori.
Il Progetto SPES-3 ha oggi raggiunto un grado di avanzamento molto importante essendo state completate le seguenti principali attività: progettazione di tutti i sistemi della facility, opere di predisposizione del sito, realizzazione della struttura portante, costruzione ed installazione di tutti i componenti del sistema “contenimento”, costruzione ed installazione dei sistemi di emergenza, approvvigionamento ed installazione di componenti del sistema di alimentazione elettrica di potenza e del sistema di controllo, prove di qualificazione di prototipi di barre riscaldanti impiegate per la simulazione degli elementi di combustibile e prove di sviluppo di strumentazione speciale per la misura di parametri dei fluidi bi-fase.
Per il completamento della facility devono essere effettuate le seguenti principali attività: approvvigionamento del fascio di barre riscaldanti per la simulazione del nocciolo del reattore, realizzazione ed installazione del Canale Centrale inclusi i relativi internals, approvvigionamento e montaggio delle pompe del circuito primario, approvvigionamento e montaggio di valvole e piping, approvvigionamento ed installazione della strumentazione e del sistema di acquisizione dati.
Dalla valutazione economica effettuata risulta che, per il completamento della facility SPES-3 presso la SIET SpA di Piacenza, sono necessari fondi pari a circa 8,5 M€, IVA esclusa, ed un tempo complessivo di 2,5 anni. Da una prima analisi dei possibili risparmi legati soprattutto al co-finanziamento delle imprese industriali coinvolte nel Progetto, è stato stimato un possibile risparmio di circa 2,65 M€ che ridurrebbe il costo totale a circa 5,9 M€, IVA esclusa
Analytical Assessment of an Enhanced Configuration of Thermal Valve System
Within the framework of its program on innovative safety systems, ENEA has in progress an R&D activity aimed at increasing the reliability of Decay Heat Removal (DHR) passive systems that implement in-pool heat exchangers. At present this activity concerns the PERSEO project aimed at the development of a system that enables the control of the removed power in the pool instead of the installation of mechanical valve on pressurized loops, thus reducing thermalmechanical constrains and thermal-hydraulic instability. PERSEO (in-Pool Energy Removal System for Emergency Operation), which is an evolution of the Thermal Valve concept studied by ENEA and CEA (Fr), will be tested at SET laboratories in Piacenza (Italy) by modifying the existing PANTHERS IC-PCC utilised in the past for testing a full scale module of the SBWR |in-pool heat exchanger. This paper is mainly conceived to compare some pre-tests calculations performed with RELAP and CATHARE of this system in order to confirm the validity of the proposed configuration and to better understand the limitations of the two different analytical models
Thermal-Hydraulic Analysis of the International Fusion Materials Irradiation Facility
Since 1994 the International Fusion Materials Irradiation Facility is under development. Up till now only design activities have been performed aimed at providing a reference design, evaluating remaining design uncertainty, reducing the costs and the key technology risk factors to reach the specified requirements with sufficient availability and reliability. From the beginning ENEA is engaged in the design of all the systems. In particular for the Lithium Target System, its activities are mainly focused on risk analysis, transient analysis, thermal-hydraulics and stability of lithium jet. This paper deals with the analysis of the behaviour of the Lithium Target System under normal and incident conditions, performed with a version of the RELAP5/Mod3.2 code modified to allow for specific features of the system itself (Lithium and organic oil as cooling fluids)
Feasibility study on the experimentation of a Decay Heat Removal System (DHRS) for Lead Fast Reactors (LFR)
A feasibility study for the construction and operation of an experimental facility devoted to the simulation of the Decay Heat Removal System (DHRS) of the Advanced Lead Fast Reactor European Demonstrator (ALFRED) is developed with reference to the DHRS concept proposed by Ansaldo Nucleare, including a steam generator, an in-pool condenser (Isolation Condenser), a non-condensable gas tank, a steam and a feed water line each equipped with isolation valves.
A preliminary design of the experimental plant is developed with the aim to use existing SIET facilities/infrastructures as much as possible. The main considered facilities/infrastructures are as follows: technological hall with the existing SPES-3 support frame 30 m high equipped with a suitable crane and elevator; an existing pool already installed at the requested elevation; the IETI facility with power supply and control room; auxiliary systems; an on-site calibration laboratory for the instrumentation; an on-site workshop for all the needed mechanical works.
Taking into account both technical feasibility and budget constraints two different options are considered for the scaling factor of the facility. A scaling factor 16:6 is assumed for the basic design while a scaling factor 16:2 is considered for possible cost reduction.
The technical feasibility of the test facility has to be checked for both the above mentioned options. The outcomes of the study are: design criteria, detailed description and drawings of the facility main components, information about the foreseen instrumentation as well as the operation basics.
Time schedule and budget estimate, including the facility design, realization and operation are provided for both the facility scaling options
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.
