La maternità in donne con Sclerosi Multipla. Una ricerca esplorativa sulle possibili dimensioni di benessere nella malattia
No full textIntroduzione. Per le donne con Sclerosi Multipla la maternità rappresenta una tappa estremamente complessa. Il lavoro si propone di esplorare i significati che maternità e malattia assumono per le donne con SM a partire dall’idea che gli aspetti rappresentazionali possano influenzare orientamenti, progetti e scelte. Metodi. Lo studio ha coinvolto 20 donne con Sclerosi Multipla alle quali è stata somministrata un’intervista. I testi delle interviste sono stati analizzati con un’analisi dei cluster mediante il software T-Lab (Lancia, 2004). Risultati. Sono emersi quattro cluster tematici denominati: il ruolo familiare, il dolore del quotidiano, dipendenza dall’area medica, chiudere il cerchio. Tali risultati, interpretati su piano fattoriale, organizzano tre vettori di senso rappresentativi delle dinamiche: dal concreto all’astratto, dal progetto alla ricaduta, dai Servizi di supporto al supporto della famiglia, che evidenziano uno spazio rappresentazionale dove è difficile tenere insieme malattia e maternità. Conclusioni. È stato possibile osservare come alcune dimensioni (l’essere in coppia e conoscere la diagnosi da un maggior tempo) possano configurarsi come fattori di sostegno specifico alla scelta di maternità. Emergono spunti di riflessione sulla necessità di progettare, nei Servizi di cura, interventi permanenti, che integrino aspetti psicologici negli abituali percorsi terapeutici
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
The generative function of a Healthcare system: linking meanings between chronic illness and motherhood
No full textThis paper explores the meanings that the experience of chronic physical illness assumes in relation to a specific aspect of the generative function, namely the experience of pregnancy and motherhood. Chronic illness and filiation are both seen as natural phenomena, but they are also products that modify our framework of meaning depending on the context; “critical events” that require a restructuring of identity on the part of the individual and of those institutional figures who represent the healthcare and social system.
It describes a research project, in a hospital environment, involving psychological support for women diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis who were preparing for motherhood. What emerges is that the psychological function can aid integration of seemingly incompatible meanings, namely those of chronic illness and the looking ahead and planning that are characteristic of motherhood. Thus the idea of health is synonymous with the kind of decision-making power that psychological support can give to people in a hospital setting
La scelta della maternità in donne con sclerosi multipla: un'analisi attraverso le narrazioni
No full textINTRODUZIONE:Le donne con Sclerosi Multipla hanno, in termini di differenze di genere, uno svantaggio per quanto riguarda prevalenza, incidenza, decorso clinico e mortalità (Trojano,2011). Molte di esse sono in coppia e desiderano la maternità, ma arrivano a rinunciarvi. Confrontarsi con un progetto di maternità, che implica di per sé un intenso lavoro psichico comporta la considerazione sia del rischio che si profila rispetto alla propria salute psicofisica, sia dei limiti imposti dalla patologia, che talvolta può ostacolare la sessualità e la maternità. Obiettivo dello studio è stato quello di esplorare i fattori emozionali e rappresentazionali che caratterizzano il progetto di maternità di donne con Sclerosi Multipla, al fine di orientare interventi che sostengano la scelta consapevole di intraprendere o meno tale percorso.
METODO:Lo studio ha coinvolto 30 donne con Sclerosi Multipla (età m.26.8) alle quali è stata somministrata un’intervista semi-strutturata. I testi delle interviste raccolte, considerati come narrazioni (Bruner, 2004; McAdams, 2001), sono stati analizzati, attraverso il software T-Lab (Lancia, 2004), con un’analisi tematica dei contesti elementari.
RISULTATI:Dall’interpretazione dei risultati è stato possibile mettere in luce, in particolare, vettori di senso rappresentativi delle dinamiche dalla negazione al desiderio, dalla delega all’autonomia, evidenziando un’ambivalenza emotiva verso il progetto di maternità che spinge spesso le donne con Sclerosi Multipla alla delega della scelta.
CONCLUSIONI:Dallo studio è emerso come la narrazione si connoti anche come possibilità di appropriarsi di una funzione individuativa. Emergono spunti rilevanti per la progettazione di interventi volti al sostegno di una scelta consapevole delle donne con Sclerosi Multipla che si confrontano con il progetto di maternità
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.
