Transition towards a pro-environmental inhabit: a comprehensive look from the normalized attitudes and habits in the domestic management of waste

Con el objetivo de inferir criterios para favorecer un habitar proambiental, esta investigación propone una mirada comprensiva a las relaciones entre la gestión normalizada de residuos domésticos (GNRD) y las actitudes y hábitos de habitantes-usuarios urbanos vinculados a esta. Conforme a una metodología cualitativa, este ejercicio inició con un exhaustivo estado del arte de la cuestión y una sección de contextualización que sitúa la pertinencia del tema y el enfoque adoptado en un escenario dominado por visiones tecnocráticas y la práctica ingenieril. Como parte de la metodología propuesta, se revisó y analizó el discurso del cuerpo normativo que estructura la GNRD y se realizaron entrevistas en profundidad, cuestionarios actitudinales y ejercicios de observación directa dirigidos a habitantes-usuarios urbanos de cada estrato socioeconómico en Palmira, Valle del Cauca. El concepto de habitus y una postura interpretativa compatible con la psicología ambiental fueron empleados en el análisis, y para la integración de hallazgos en los criterios propuestos se acudió a una mirada socioecológica. Se encontró que la conciencia ambiental que subyace al cuerpo normativo es explícitamente dependiente del contexto internacional y no se materializa en la práctica de la GNRD, facilita la despreocupación y soporta la continuidad de hábitos de larga data. A nivel doméstico, se encontró que el manejo doméstico de la basura depende principalmente de las facilidades del entorno y experiencias personales; también se encontraron hábitos y relaciones sociales que impulsan la recirculación de la materia sin implicar una conciencia ambiental; finalmente, los criterios propuestos para favorecer un habitar alineado con el objetivo proambiental de la recirculación de la materia fueron: eficiencia socioecológica, coherencia, racionalidad económica, aprovechabilidad, diversidad y coordinación. (Texto tomado de la fuente)It is widely recognized that predominant linear scheme in waste management must align with a circular approach, however, this is unthinkable without considering a change on inhabit ways. With the objective of inferring criteria to favor a pro-environmental inhabit, this research proposes a comprehensive look at the relationships between normalized management of household waste (GNRD in spanish) and the attitudes and habits of urban inhabitants-users linked to it. Following a qualitative methodology, this exercise began with an exhaustive state of art of the issue and a contextualization section that situates the relevance of the topic and the adopted approach in a scenario dominated by technocratic visions and engineering practice. As part of the proposed methodology, the discourse of the normative body that structures the GNRD was reviewed and analyzed, and in-depth interviews, attitudinal questionnaires, and direct observation exercises were conducted with urban inhabitants-users of each socioeconomic stratum in Palmira, Valle del Cauca. The habitus concept and an interpretative position compatible with environmental psychology were used in the analysis, and for the integration of findings in the proposed criteria, a socio-ecological perspective was used. It was found that the environmental awareness that underlies the normative body is explicitly dependent on the international context and does not materialize in the practice of the GNRD, it facilitates carelessness and supports continuity of long-standing habits. At the domestic level, it was found that domestic management of garbage depends mainly on the facilities of the environment and personal experiences; Habits and social relationships that promote the recirculation of matter without implying environmental awareness were also found; finally, the criteria proposed to favor an inhabit aligned with the pro-environmental objective of the recirculation of matter were: socio-ecological efficiency, coherence, economic rationality, exploitability, diversity and coordination.MaestríaMagíster en HábitatMetodología cualitativa con un enfoque integrador transdisciplinar. Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
