Motivi letterari nei libri per l’infanzia di Paolo Di Paolo
The article, organised in the form of a discussion, aims to analyse the themes and motifs of Paolo Di Paolo’s works that are addressed to young audiences. The author has recently published a large number of volumes directed just at younger readers. When beholding the titles that constitute the author’s bibliography, the reader is struck by Di Paolo’s predisposition to transform literary classics: as much in Giacomo il signor bambino as in the edition of the Divina Commedia, the author’s goal is to try to reach his new readers. Therefore, Di Paolo proves to be a prolific author of the genre; in fact, in his bibliography, volumes of fairy tales with a classic slant, such as La mucca volante, are listed as well.L’articolo contiene un’analisi di temi e di motivi delle opere di Paolo Di Paolo dirette al pubblico più piccolo.

Sonographer's workplace improvement: ergonomics evaluation using modelling and simulation software
The aim of this paper is to carry out an ergonomic assessment of sonographers’ activity by means of advanced modelling and simulation software and to verify the relative literature evidences. The objective is to arrange a support tool for the risk assessment that permits a preventive analysis and the identification of the best working conditions. Modelling and simulation of abdominal ultrasounds (about 9 minutes long) allowed to analyse the anthropometric and biomechanical risk exposure of the workers using tools and features available in a software
Towards an ergonomic and risk evaluation of sonographer activity
The purpose of this paper is to describe a research project that aims to conduct a multi-criteria and integrated ergonomics evaluation of sonographer activity. The authors are developing a perspective analysis by means of advanced modelling and simulation software tools. The research project started with a critical and systematic literature review mainly finalized to characterize the actual level of
investigation of sonographers activity. The review identified the main results available in literature and the current research gaps on which the authors will focus their attention. In the light of this evidence, the authors started a multifactorial evaluation of the sonographer activity with the aim to arrange a set of support tools for the risk assessment that permits a preventive analysis and the identification of the best working conditions in the analyzed situations (e.g. skilled or not killed sonographer, older or younger sonographer, male or female sonographer, on obese or non collaborative patients, etc.)
Analytic Hierarchy Process to support ergonomic evaluation of ultrasound devices
The objectives of this study are to develop an efficient and generally applicable multi-criteria methodology for choosing the optimal ultrasound device, and to apply it to a case study. The methodology is based on Analytic Hierarchy Process with a Goal (to satisfy company’s objectives in terms of ergonomics, i.e. to optimise workers’ well-being) and three levels of evaluation elements. It provides decision-makers of hospitals or diagnostic centres with a structured methodology to select the most ergonomic ultrasound. The case study considered a wireless, a mobile and a traditional ultrasound device in an Italian hospital. The wireless device was the preferred one
The article examines - in the centenary of his birth - the "political thought" of Pier Paolo Pasolini.
Therefore, it scrutinizes (above all) his writings on society, but there are frequent incursions into the literature and especially into the cinema of this completely original author. What emerges is the depth of concepts often used by the poet to analyze and criticize the present: New Prehistory, new capitalism, consumerism, hedonism, Power, the Palace, the Process, development and progress, sacredness in primis. It also shows how Pasolini's eye and judgment were mainly guided by passion and only by reason. His homosexuality also played a significant role in his perception of reality. In the final part of the paper we analyze some technical tools used by the author to carry out his work of understanding the present and its consequent artistic-critical translation

Texture features of colorectal liver metastases on pretreatment contrast-enhanced CT may predict response and prognosis in patients treated with bevacizumab-containing chemotherapy: a pilot study including comparison with standard chemotherapy
Bevacizumab added to chemotherapy can improve survival in patients with metastatic colorectal cancer, but no predictive factors of efficacy are available in clinical practice. The aim of this study is to assess the predictive and prognostic value of texture analysis on pretreatment contrast-enhanced CT in patients affected by colorectal liver metastases
Liver metastases: sulphur hexafluoride-enhanced ultrasonography for lesion detection: a systematic review.
This is a systematic review to evaluate the accuracy of contrast-enhanced ultrasonography (CEUS) performed with "SonoVue" (sulphur hexafluoride) in the detection of hepatic metastases. The MEDLINE, EMBASE and COCHRANE Databases were searched, regardless of language, for relevant articles published before December 2009. Two reviewers independently assessed study eligibility using a standardized form and methodological quality using the quality assessment of diagnostic accuracy studies (QUADAS) Checklist. Sensitivity estimates were calculated on a per-patient and/or per-lesion basis. The search for published articles yielded 718 potentially relevant abstracts. Of these, 14 papers were eligible but only three articles fulfilled the inclusion criteria, which comprised a total of 450 patients (patient sample number: range 12 to 365; cancer prevalence: 14.8 to 71.2%). Estimated per-patient sensitivity ranged from 79-100%. Although the quality assessment of diagnostic accuracy studies checklist showed the papers were of good quality, a meta-analysis was not applicable because of the lack of eligible studies. In conclusion, CEUS seems to be promising in the detection of liver metastases; however, there have not been enough studies to conduct meta-analysis. Further studies are required before this promising method can be widely used
