Parry syllogisms
Parry discusses an extension of Aristotle's syllogistic that uses four nontraditional quantifiers. We show that his conjectured decision procedure for validity for the extended syllogistic is correct even if syllogisms have more than two premises. And we axiomatize this extension of the syllogistic
Dataset supporting thesis titled: 'The roles of extreme and rising temperatures on individual, population and biogeographic responses of intertidal gastropods in the northeast Atlantic'
Data to accompany chapters 2, 3 and 4 of PhD thesis, where original data were collected as part of this thesis and belong to the student author.
Chapter 2 data include raw EnvLogger temperature data and relevant tide time data for Portuguese study sites. Chapter 3 data include laboratory experiment digitised specimen measurement data (wet weight, coma and recovery, mortalities), raw treatment experiment temperatures and both Looe and Brixham raw field temperature data. Chapter 4 data include laboratory specimen digitised measurement data (weight, size, mortality) and raw treatment temperature data.
Chapter 3 data is associated with the publication: Parry-Wilson, H. M., Fenberg, P. B., Hawkins, S. J., & Mieszkowska, N. (2024). Lethal and sub-lethal responses of rocky shore gastropods to extreme temperatures. Journal of Experimental Marine Biology and Ecology, 579, 152044.</span
Fan Club #3 Shipfic Bodyswap Copyriot Partylife
An fan club event in relation to Larry!Monument, commissioned for Jerwood Encounters: Common Property, which pays homage to the fantasy romance between One Direction members Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson, as documented by fans known as Larry Shippers. Legalising medical use of cannabis in South Africa : is the empirical evidence sufficient to support policy shifts in this direction?
CITATION: Parry, C.D.H. & Myers, B.J. 2014. Legalising medical use of cannabis in South Africa: is the empirical evidence sufficient to support policy shifts in this direction? South African Medical Journal, 104(6):399-400, doi:10.7196/SAMJ.8135.The original publication is available at http://www.samj.org.zaInkatha Freedom Party MP Mario Oriani-Ambrosini’s impassioned plea to legalise the medical use of cannabis must be understood in the context of his own condition as well as legislative changes in at least ten countries. This article argues that any decisions to shift policy must be based on a consideration of the evidence on the risks and benefits associated with the medical use of cannabis for the individual and broader society. It concludes that there are important gaps in the evidence base, particularly in human trials supporting the efficacy of cannabis use for treating and preventing medical conditions and alleviating negative symptoms associated with these conditions. South African researchers should be enabled actively to support development of the necessary evidence base actively by conducting preclinical and clinical research in this area. Human trials to establish the efficacy of the use of cannabis/cannabinoids in addressing AIDS wasting syndrome and other negative sequelae of HIV and AIDS are especially needed.http://www.samj.org.za/index.php/samj/article/view/8135Publisher's versio

Analyzing Packet Radio Networks
This paper describes AX.25 packet radio networks using XNET, a software program specifically designed for this unique type of network analysis. Networks are complex entities most easily explained visually. Through the graphical displays, one can more easily gain an appreciation and understanding of network behavior. XNET runs on UNIX/LINUX systems supporting the Tcl/Tk language. XNET is the result of a Master's degree project requirement completed in May, 1995 at North Central College, Naperville, Illinois. Parry February 1997 [Page 2 ] INTRODUCTION Wireless communication systems are changing at an unprecedented rate. The explosion in cellular phone communication is just one of many examples. There also appears to be no stopping it, as satellite based systems are already on the drawing board and s..
