Claudia Berra ripercorre la storia dell’edizione critica delle Lettere bembiane curata
da Ernesto Travi e pubblicata dalla Commissione per i testi di lingua tra il 1987 e il
1993. Compiendo una riflessione metodologica sulle scelte compiute dall’editore, l’autrice sottolinea la necessità di un volume aggiuntivo che corregga le numerose mende presenti nell’edizione critica a vari livelli. Nella seconda parte, Francesco Amendola attraverso alcuni esempi pratici illustra la struttura del nuovo volume che si affiancherà ai quattro già editi e che costituirà un imprescindibile punto di partenza per le future ricerche sulle lettere di Bembo.The paper, co-authored by Claudia Berra and Francesco Amendola, is divided in two parts; the first, by Berra, follows the history of Pietro Bembo’s Letters, a critical edition by Ernesto Travi, published by the Commissione per i testi di lingua between 1987 and 1993. Moving from a methodological reflection on Travi’s philological choices and practices, Berra emphasizes the need for an additional volume intended to correct the shortcomings of the edition. In the second part, Francesco Amendola illustrates with some examples the structure of the new volume which will join and improve the existing four by Travi, and which will set a starting point for future research on Bembo’s letters

No full textThis volume contains the proceedings of the XIII Conference of Italian literature, held as usual at the site of the Villa Feltrinelli in Gargnano del Garda, 25 to 27 September 2008, and dedicated to Dante’s Rime. Challenging topic, especially after the publication (2002) of the monumental critical edition – and then the commentary – by Domenico De Robertis, and the debate that followed. The meeting of Italian and foreign specialists gave occasion to a thorough and lively discussion, rich of new proposals on many aspects of Dante’s poetry. The papers are divided, with some freedom, thematically: the first group sets the point on the correspondence between Dante and Cino, on some texts of questionable attribution and on the manuscript tradition; the second focuses on the great “canzoni” and the third consists of contributions on individual poems, themes and issues of the Rime. The meeting was held as usual in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, this year just tinged of sadness for the absence of Gennaro Barbarisi

early years of sixteenth-century Italy by focusing on a philological and epistolographic perspec tive and taking into consideration the recent literature. While the letters written by Savorgnan
to Bembo, which are included in Carlo Dionisotti’s seminal edition of 1950, are original and autographed, Bembo’s letters to her were instead revised and rewritten by the author with the printing press in mind and published posthumously only in 1552. This revision and rewriting resulted in an epistolary romance with partially altered chronology, events and style. Moving from the analysis of Dionisotti’s edition, the article discusses a range of issues connected to this peculiar textual situation while aiming to offer suggestions for a new annotated edition of the Savorgnan–Bembo correspondence
