Mellin analysis and exponential sampling. Part I: Mellin fractional integrals

No full text
The Mellin transform and the associated convolution integrals are intimately connected with the exponential sampling theorem. In this part we study basic theoretical properties, including Mellin-type fractional integrals. Especially we study in detail the domain and the range of these operators and their semigroup propert

Mellin analysis and exponential sampling. Part II: Mellin differential operators and sampling

No full text
Here we introduce a notion of strong fractional derivative and we study the connection with the Hadamard pointwise fractional derivative. We obtain a fractional version of the fundamental theorem of integral and differential calculus. We apply the theory to exponential sampling theorem and we state the reproducing kernel formula in Mellin frame

Sampling Theorems for Stochastic Signals. Appraisal of Paul L. Butzer’s Work

No full text
The sampling reconstruction theory is one of the great areas of the analysis in which Paul Leo Butzer earned longstanding and excellent theoretical results. Thus, we are forced either by earlier exhaustive presentations of his research activity and/or the highly voluminous material to restrict ourselves to a more narrow and precise sub-area in consideration; we discuss here, giving deeper insight, Paul Butzer’s sampling theoretical work with special attention concerning sampling stochastic signals

Eugène Catalan and the rise of Russian science

No full text
Eugène Catalan and the rise of Russian science . In: Bulletin de la Classe des sciences, tome 2, 1991. pp. 59-90
