Adriana Zaharijević prepričljivo pokaže, da misel Judith Butler predstavlja koherentno egalitarno alternativo liberalni filozofiji v 21. stoletju, ki vzpostavlja produktiven dialog z aktualnimi družbenimi izzivi. Celotno delo prežema eno – z znanstvenega in družbenopolitičnega vidika temeljno – vprašanje, tj. »Kako se domisliti sveta, v katerem bo možno vsako življenje?«

Therapeutic uses of inorganic nitrite and nitrate - from the past to the future
No full textPotential carcinogenic effects, blue baby syndrome, and occasional intoxications caused by nitrite, as well as the suspected health risks related to fertilizer overuse, contributed to the negative image that inorganic nitrite and nitrate have had for decades. Recent experimental studies related to the molecular interaction between nitrite and heme proteins in blood and tissues, the potential role of nitrite in hypoxic vasodilatation, and an unexpected protective action of nitrite against ischemia/reperfusion injury, however, paint a different picture and have led to a renewed interest in the physiological and pharmacological properties of nitrite and nitrate. The range of effects reported suggests that these simple oxyanions of nitrogen have a much richer profile of biological actions than hitherto assumed, and several efforts are currently underway to investigate possible beneficial effects in the clinical arena. We provide here a brief historical account of the medical uses of nitrite and nitrate over the centuries that may serve as a basis for a careful reassessment of the health implications of their exposure and intake and may inform investigations into their therapeutic potential in the future

Full text linkDiplomski rad obrađuje neke teorijske interese Judith Butler, Monique Wittig i Luce Irigaray. Iako su sve tri autorice u svojem radu artikulirale problem rodne nejednakosti, spola i roda te jezik kao oruđe takvog društvenog uređenja, tek je studija Judith Butler, Nevolje s
rodom, okupila i supostavila teze autorica. U tom smislu, navedenu studiju valja gledati kao orijentir za teorijski odnos autorica, ali i kao temeljno djelo dvadesetog stoljeća kada je riječ o rodu. Performativnost koju je Butler, na zasadama nekih ranijih teza, iznijela u Nevoljama s rodom,pretpostavlja rodnu inovaciju budući da rod ne označava kao prirodan nego u potpunosti društveno uvjetovan. Shodno tome, propituje se i narav spola a kao glavno oruđe
uspostave spola i roda određuje se jezik. Slično, iako s određenim teorijskim odstupanjima, društvene probleme razmatraju Monique Wittig i Luce Irigaray. Autorice koje su uvelike obilježile francuski feminizam drugog vala ukazuju na umjetnu narav spola i roda te naglašavaju formativnu ulogu jezika. Ipak, dok Butler, u kontekstu performativnosti, donekle afirmira heteronormativnost društva, Wittig smatra da je treba trajno ukinuti. Kao alternativu postojećem uređenju, Wittig nudi lezbijstvo ali ne u seksualnom smislu. Prema Wittigičinoj viziji, politički aktivna žena/lezbijka ukinula bi monopol muške riječi, uspostavila jezičnu jednakost. Nalik Wittig, Irigaray prepoznaje jezičnu nadmoć muškarca ali je imenuje falocentrizmom. Ukazujući na žensku „spolnu razliku“ koja pomaže održanju falocentričnog društva, Irigaray predlaže ukidanje postojećeg i uspostavu novog jezičnog sustava. U tom svjetlu valja gledati njezinu taktiku mimeze – dekonstrukcije tradicionalno muških filozofskih
tekstova odnosno njihovog preoznačivanja za ženske svrhe. Kada se uzmu tri spomenute taktike – performativnost, lezbijstvo i mimeza, valja zaključiti kako posjeduju političku, subverzivnu osnovu koja još nije provedena u društvenoj praksi

No full textJudith Butler je jedna od najcjenjenijih queer teoretičarki na svijetu. Njena filozofija je definitivno pomaknula granice gledanja na feminizam, homoseksualnost i incest. Butler sebe smatra feministkinjom, bez obzira na to što njena djela uglavnom brane rodnu teoriju i seksualne manjine. Rodna teorija je relativno brzo ušla u politiku i domove, zbog sve veće medijske propagande. Da bi njena ideja opstala, jedini način je bio ulaganje velikog novca i promocija Juditinih ideja. Jedna od novih ideja je pojam roda, koji ne ovisi o spolu koji je prema njoj društveno konstruiran. Počevši a tom idejom, cijela njena filozofija se počela bazirati prema seksualnim manjinama. Seksualne manjine u svijetu su prema Butler potlačene i oni trebaju imati veća prava. U većini zemalja im je to i omogućeno. Kako se prava manjina povećavaju, tako se usporedno prava većine smanjivanju. Smanjenjem prava većine dolazimo do problema sustava, jer rodni ideolozi sve više počinju uzimati maha i promovirati sve vrste seksualnih nastranosti. Osim homoseksualizma koji je već svima jako poznat, na mala vrata ulazi i pedofilija, iako joj se Butler načelno protivi. Medijska kampanja koja je usmjerena prema tome je sve agresivnija. Politika ne štedi djecu, a mediji pišu što im financijeri narede. Sličnu sliku imamu i u Hrvatskoj, gdje rodna ideologija napreduje, ali srećom, puno manjim koracima

No full text In contrast to Judith Herman, who understands incest exclusively in terms of power, Judith Butler insists on the importance of the child’s love for our understanding of incest. Butler’s thinking in this respect is suggestive but underdeveloped, while also holding considerable implications for how we might understand the role of violence in social life. This article develops and assesses her thinking on the child’s love and its relation to the question of violence and trauma more generally. At issue is the question of how we are to understand violence. Is it always motivated? Is it always destructive? And finally are there limits to what can be understood? </jats:p
