Attraverso le testimonianze contenute nella copiosa documentazione d'archivio ed il confronto tra gli inventari esistenti vengono indagate le vicende dell'antico patrimonio librario claustrale con particolare attenzione agli esemplari ancora oggi conservati recanti note ed attestazioni di possesso

No full textI due monumenti che a Bergamo commemorano Garibaldi e Vittorio Emanuele II furono inaugurati a circa dieci mesi di distanza l'uno dall'altro, tra la fine di novembre del 1884 e la metà di settembre del 1885; i tempi dei cantieri si incrociarono, così come l'attività dei comitati promotori e i dibattiti sui progetti e sugli interventi urbanistici. Proprio tale contemporaneità nella celebrazione della "diarchia di marmo" rende particolarmente intelligibili le differenti dinamiche politiche, memorialistiche e urbane, che si intrecciarono attorno alla vicenda delle due statue bergamasche

No full textThis contribution explores the demand side of gastronomy tourism, in particular the characteristics of travellers who are driven by their gastronomic interest. Such ‘passionate tourists’ gain a number of experiences from gastronomy within their holidays, and these ranges from enjoyment to socialization and learning. Regardless their motivation to travel, gastronomic experiences are often taken in conjunction with other activities available (especially those related to culture). Practical implications for destinations include improvements in thematic offerings (both in terms of variety and authenticity), cross-marketing activities and promotion. In doing so, they need to become aware of the diversity of consumption patterns of these tourists

Natural frequencies and dampings identification using wavelet transform: application to real data
No full textThe wavelet transform is used as a time-frequency representation for system identification purposes. It is shown that wavelet analysis of the free response of a system allows the estimation of the natural frequencies and viscous damping ratios. The advantages of the wavelet transform in the analysis of the free decay of the system are underlined and a comparison with previous techniques is made. The accuracy of this method is confirmed by applying it to a numerical example and the acceleration responses from a real bridge under ambient excitations (the Queensborough Bridge in Vancouver, Canada). The results obtained agree with those previously obtained on the dynamic behaviour of the Queensborough Bridge
