Summary
Introduction: Cardiovascular diseases are in a majority of health issues worldwide. Dietary habits have been extensively studied in the cardiovascular area since they are responsible for improvement or deterioration of that system condition. One of the most commonly mentioned product is red meat, both processed and unprocessed.
Brief description of the state of knowledge: The aim of this review was to present currently available knowledge in the online database PubMed about consumption of red meat and cardiovascular health. The article covers scientific papers which indicate to the risk factor, which is intake of processed and unprocessed meat, and eventually incidents of CVD. It is also claimed that effects of consumption that group of protein may be dependent of its dosage.
Conclusions: The review support an assumption that dietary patterns, in this case red meat, processed and unprocessed, play a significant role in being CVD risk factors. Besides, that influence should be measured more precisely and new scientific tools for tracking dietary habits should be input.
Key words: cardiovascular disease, red meat, processed meat, unprocessed mea
Pruritus in dialysis patients — ethiopathogenesis, clinical aspects and treatment
Uraemic pruritus is a common complication in dialysis patients which reduces the quality of life and increases the mortality. The ethiopathogenesis of uremic pruritus has not been well explained. Several explanations for ureamic pruritus have been proposed like keratosis, xerosis, dysfunction of immune system, dysfunction of endogenous opioid system, nueropeptide disturbances, water-electrolyte imbalance, dysfunction of divalent cations metabolism, iron-deficiency anaemia and skin surface pH changes. Because of complex pathomechanism there is no known causal treatment of uraemic pruritus. The paper synthesizes the current data regarding ethiopathogenesis and treatment of uraemic pruritus

Summary:
Introduction and purpose: Psoriasis is a skin disease that develops following chronic inflammatory signaling and keratinocyte hyperproliferation. The pathogenesis of psoriasis is compound and not yet fully understood. Several studies concerning the gut microbiota composition and its role in disease pathogenesis recently demonstrated significant alterations among psoriatic patients. This study aims to highlight the latest scientific evidence regarding the gut microbiome alterations of psoriatic patients, as well as the state of knowledge in terms of microbiome-targeted therapies as promising preventive and therapeutic tools for psoriasis.
Brief description of the state of knowledge: The current state of knowledge indicates that the main causes of psoriasis may be genetic predisposition, as well as many immunological and environmental factors, including dysbiosis of the intestinal microflora. The article covers clinical and experimental studies which indicate that gut microbiota dysbiosis concerning diversity as well as composition of microbiome is the potential causal factor of psoriasis and the gut microbiota may serve as promising prevention/therapy target for psoriasis patients.
Conclusions: This review highlighted a strong link between psoriasis and the gut microbiota, with the purpose of adding new knowledge for discovering the relationship between the altered intestinal microbiota in psoriasis patients. Despite all of these interesting findings, there are a lot of limitations and challenges that future studies should face. More precise and greater studies need to be done to fully understand the potential of microbiota-aimed therapies.

The feasibility of the utilization of drop-on-demand technology in the fabrication of flexible dosing, poly-pharmacy, and novel multi-drug design dosage forms
Current and future trends in the delivery of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) have led to an explosion into the research of the development and understanding of novel drug delivery systems with the capacity to delivery drugs with increasing accuracy and efficiency. The advent of the discoveries made in the human genome project enables genetic and anthropometric information about individuals to be utilized to deliver tailored strategies for the detection, treatment, and prevention of disease. Microdispensing and, in particular, Drop-on-Demand (DoD) technology, is an optimum technology to employ in this avenue because it allows for the delivery of customizable drug architecture due to its innovative and modular design. DoD enables customization for use in personalized medicine because it is based upon a building block methodology where the dosage and the drug delivery system is adapted by determining key attributes and combining the Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (API) and polymer in a block matrix system. The goal of this research is to examine the feasibility of the utilization of Drop-on-Demand (DoD) technology to manufacture drugs that enable flexible dosing, poly-pharmacy, and multi-drug design dosage forms. Applied to transdermal drug delivery, we wish to design Transdermal Drug Delivery Systems (TDDS) in an innovative and systematic approach. We propose to (1) print multi drug dosage forms, (2) decrease the amount of layers currently used in the traditional system, and (3) create new dosage forms by printing the API, skin enhancers, additives, and adhesive components onto the same film with distinct patterns and configurations to achieve the desired dissolution results.Ph. Freeing Korczak? The question of copyrights to the artistic output of the author of King Matt the First [Król Maciuś Pierwszy]
This texts depicts the situation of the late writer in view of the bureaucracy of law. It presents the post-war history of state institutions' supervision over the literary legacy of Janusz Korczak who died childless. The author uses archival materials kept, among others, by the Korczakianum Centre for Documentation and Research and the Association of Authors ZAiKS. On the basis of the documents from the 1950s stored in the District Court in Lublin, Sęczek reconstructs the process of establishing the dates of birth and death of the Old Doctor which blatantly differ from the factual and commonly known ones. Additionally, the materials retained in the State Archive of Warsaw enable the researcher to falsify the well-established outlook (according to so called "korczakologia", i.e. the studies on Korczak) concerning the lost register containing Henryk Goldszmit's personal data.Instytut Badań Literackich PAN350251
