No full textSingle crystals of cuprite (Cu₂O) were plastically deformed along and compression axes. The specimens deformed at 250° C (0.35 TF) showed by T. E. M. four {110} slip systems. The specimens deformed at about 450° C (0.48 TF) showed both slip systems {001} and {101} simultaneously.Des monocristaux de cuprite Cu2O ont été déformés plastiquement par compression selon les directions et . Les températures des essais sont de l'ordre de 250° C (0,35 TK) ; la M. E. T. permet d'observer quatre systèmes de glissement {110} activés dans le premier cas. No full textDer Band versammelt aktuelle ethnografische Studien zu Kindheiten in formalen, nonformalen und informellen Bildungskontexten in der Schweiz. Bei unterschiedlichen disziplinären Zugängen, die spezifisch für die heterogene ethnografische Forschungslandschaft in der Schweiz sind, teilen alle Beiträge dieses Bandes zwei kindheitstheoretische Prämissen: Sie begreifen ‚Kindheit‘ erstens als ein interaktiv, praktisch oder diskursiv hervorgebrachtes Phänomen, das wesentlich durch institutionelle Arrangements geprägt und bedingt ist und verstehen dabei zweitens Bildung als integralen Teil der gesellschaftlichen Institutionalisierung von Kindheit.

No full textPhotograph of two Black students Samuel and Roger Courtney tarred and feathered While at the time this incident was described as hazing incident carried out by University of Maine a modern interpretation, by scholars such as Karen Sieber, Humanities Specialist at the McGillicuddy Humanities Center, was that this was actually a racist attack.
Sieber has featured this incident in her, Visualizing the Red Summer database and archive on the topic of the Red Summer of 1919, a term given to a nationwide wave of violence against African Americans that year.

No full textDer Beitrag beschreibt das neue strafrechtliche Forschungsprogramm des Freiburger Max-
Planck-Instituts für ausländisches und internationales Strafrecht, das unter Leitung seines Direktors Prof. Dr. Ulrich
Sieber durchgeführt wird. Dieses Programm analysiert die aktuelle Kriminalität und Kriminalitätskontrolle in der
globalen Informations— und Risikogesellschaft. Ein erster Forschungsschwerpunkt untersucht dabei die Zunahme der
grenzüberschreitenden Kriminalität, die das klassische Strafrecht an seine territorialen Grenzen führt. Diese Veränderung
erfordert neue Formen eines transnational wirksamen Strafrechts. Der zweite Forschungsschwerpunkt
analysiert die Entwicklung der sich verändernden komplexen Kriminalität (insbesondere in den Bereichen der organisierten
Kriminalität, des Terrorismus und der Wirtschaftskriminalität) sowie die damit in zahlreichen Rechtsordnungen
verbundene Auflösung der reaktiven Funktion des Strafrechts und seiner Schutzgarantien zugunsten eines rein
präventiv orientierten Sicherheitsrechts, welches Strafrecht, Polizeirecht, Geheimdienstrecht und teilweise auch
Kriegsrecht vermischt. Kriminalpolitisch plädiert das neue Forschungsprogramm gegen diese Entwicklung sowie für
die Differenzierung von präventiven und reaktiven Funktionen und für die Beibehaltung der strafrechtlichen Schutzgarantien
als Grundlage eines effektiven Strafrechts gegen grenzüberschreitende und komplexe Kriminalität, das außer
mit dem präventiven Sicherheitsrecht auch mit neuen alternativen Formen der sozialen Kontrolle zusammenwirktThe article presents the research program currently in place at the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International
Criminal Law under the auspices of its director, Prof. Dr. Ulrich Sieber. The research program calls for the
analysis of new trends in crime and crime control that are emerging in the global risk and information society. It focuses,
first, on recent increases in transnational crime and the challenges posed by this kind of criminal activity to the territorial
limits of traditional criminal law. In order to deal effectively with these issues, new forms of transnational criminal
law, some of which are presented briefly in the article, are necessary. The second focus of the program is on newly
emerging types of complex crime (primarily organized crime, terrorism, and economic crime) as well as on the concomitant
dissolution of the traditional, preventive aspects and functional limits of criminal law. In many legal systems,
these kinds of changes in criminal law are leading to a blurring of the traditional boundaries between criminal law, police
law, the laws governing intelligence agencies, and in some systems even the law of war. From a criminal policy perspective,
the author criticizes this development, arguing instead that a clear distinction between preventive and repressive
functions and a return to traditional protective criminal law safeguards are essential if the criminal law, together
with preventive security law and new alternative forms of social control, is to work effectively against transnational and
complex crim
Nanocomposites à base d’oxyde de graphène réduit : synthèse, caractérisation et application
No full textNous avons synthétisé avec succès ces nano-composés (rGO/Arg-Ag NPs, rGO-Ni NPs and rGO-Co3O4NPs) et les avons caractérisés par de nombreuses techniques, XPS, SEM, TEM, FTIR, Raman, UV-Vis et TGA. Les analyses montrent que ces nano-composés à base de graphène ont des propriétés excellentes et une grande stabilité. Utilisés comme catalyseurs dans des applications environnementales, ils réduisent efficacement le 4-nitrophenol en 4-aminophenol ainsi que les colorants à forte adsorption et le chrome (VI) présents dans les eaux usées.We successfully obtained these nanocomposites (rGO/Arg-Ag NPs, rGO-Ni NPs and rGO-Co3O4NPs).The resulting rGO-based nanocomposites were characterized by a variety of different techniques, including XPS, SEM, TEM, FTIR, Raman, UV-Vis and TGA. These analysis shows that these graphene-based nanocomposites have excellent properties and stability. The rGO-based nanocomposites, applied as a catalyst in environmental applications and shows good catalytic performance for reduction of 4nitrophenol to 4aminophenol and high adsorption dyes and Cr (VI) from wastewater
