No full textCascaded H-Bridge (CHB) converters have been considered valid candidates for replacing the two-level inverter in EV powertrain applications. This paper presents a State of Charge-governed algorithm for charging Li-Ion battery modules within a Cascaded H-Bridge converter for EV powertrain, connected to a DC charger. The novelty of this algorithm lies in the balanced and concurrent charge of the battery modules installed in all submodules of the three-phases, with no extra middle stage converter needed. Simulation and experimental results are shown to prove the validity of the novel architecture and the experimental setup is described

No full textIl lavoro esamina la “questione immigrazione”, che ha assunto in Italia rilevanza crescente soprattutto per l’insorgere di conflittualità, provocando spesso sentimenti di insicurezza e una falsa percezione dell’immigrato come deviante, anche per effetto della rappresentazione mediatica. L’autore si propone di disegnare, attraverso i dati statistici ufficiali dal 2001, un quadro quantitativo e qualitativo dell’immigrazione irregolare e clandestina, nonché della criminalità degli stranieri, alla luce dei mutamenti delle politiche migratorie europee e italiane.This paper examines the "immigration issue", which has taken in recent years increasing importance in Italy, especially for the uprising of social conflicts, often because of the feelings of insecurity and a false perception of immigrants as deviant, partly as a outcome of media representation. The author outlines, through the analysis of official statistics since 2001, the quantitative/qualitative scenario of irregular and illegal migration and aliens' criminality according to the changes of European and Italian politics of migration control
Organometallic Bridge Diversification of Bicyclo[1.1.1]pentanes
No full textBicyclo[1.1.1]pentane (BCP) derivatives have attracted significant recent interest in drug discovery as alkyne, tert-butyl and arene bioisosteres, where their incorporation is frequently associated with increased compound solubility and metabolic stability. While strategies for functionalisation of the bridgehead (1,3) positions are extensively developed, platforms allowing divergent substitution at the bridge (2,4,5) positions remain limited. Recent reports have introduced 1 electron strategies for arylation and incorporation of a small range of other substituents, but are limited in terms of scope, yields or practical complexity. Herein, we show the synthesis of diverse 1,2,3-trifunctionalised BCPs through lithium-halogen exchange of a readily accessible BCP bromide. When coupled with medicinally relevant product derivatisations, our developed 2-electron “late stage” approach provides rapid and straightforward access to unprecedented BCP structural diversity (>20 hitherto-unknown motifs reported). Additionally, we describe a method for the synthesis of enantioenriched “chiral-at-BCP” bicyclo[1.1.1]pentanes through a novel stereoselective bridgehead desymmetrisation
