    Astrodust+PAH Cross Sections

    No full text
Absorption, scattering and extinction cross sections for astrodust, ionized PAHs/graphite ("cion"), and neutral PAHs/graphite ("cneu"). Astrodust file includes polarization cross sections. The astrodust data correspond to grains that are 1.4:1 oblate spheroids with porosity = 0.2 Please cite Hensley & Draine 2022 if using these data. Please also consider citing the paper where the astrodust dielectric function was derived (Draine & Hensley 2021) and the paper deriving the observational constraints used to calibrate the model (Hensley & Draine 2021). The astrodust files are organized as follows: HDU 0: Information on file structure HDU 1: Effective radius values (167) HDU 2: Wavelength values (1000) HDU 3: Log10 U values (91) HDU 4: Cabs (167x1000, cm2) HDU 5: Csca (167x1000, cm2) HDU 6: Cext (167x1000, cm2) HDU 7: Cabs, pol (167x1000, cm2) HDU 8: Cext, pol (167x1000, cm2) HDU 9: ∫ dT dP/dt Cabs ν Bν(T) (167x91x1000, erg/s/sr) HDU 10: ∫ dT dP/dt Cabs, pol ν Bν(T) (167x91x1000, erg/s/sr) The files for PAHs/graphite ("c"arbonaceous grains) are organized as follows: HDU 0: Information on file structure HDU 1: Effective radius values (167) HDU 2: Wavelength values (1000) HDU 3: Log10 U values (91) HDU 4: Cabs (167x1000, cm2) HDU 5: Csca (167x1000, cm2) HDU 6: Cext (167x1000, cm2) HDU 7: ∫ dT dP/dt Cabs ν Bν(T) (167x91x1000, erg/s/sr) A Jupyter notebook illustrating use of these files is available on Github ("changing_size_distribution_tutorial.ipynb"). Finally, we also provide all data as plaintext files in the zipped directory

    Cross-Cultural Meta-Analyses

    No full text
In the enormous collection of cross-cultural data that have been published during the last few decades it is difficult to perceive patterns. There is a clear need for systematizing the vast amount of cross-cultural studies and for developing models that explain cross-cultural differences in psychology. Two methods of cross-cultural meta-analysis can be distinguished. First, the instrument-based method of comparing data for one instrument across countries is suitable for instruments which have been administered in many countries. Second, a domain-based meta-analysis used a thematic domain from which culture-comparative studies are sampled instead of one specific instrument or method
