Estudio análisis y verificación del canal constitución mediante implementación de la técnica LSPIV
El proyecto permitirá verificar si la zona norte de la Ciudad de Salta podrá desagotar las aguas pluviales de manera efectiva en el momento que sea pertinente ya que, actualmente el crecimiento poblacional incrementó la demanda en los canales. Se toma como base de estudio el canal existente ‘’Canal Constitución’’ que consta de una longitud aproximada de 2.03 km, el cual se analizará y verificará para colectar las aguas de lluvia, estudiando a su vez si se necesitará redimensionarlo o desarrollar alguna obra complementaria para su eficaz funcionamiento.Fil: Santillán, Matías. Estudio hidrológico de un cruce sobre el río Vaqueros
La localidad de Vaqueros ha tenido un crecimiento poblacional exponencial en los últimos años, así como también las zonas aledañas, con la creación de barrios como “El Huaico” o “Mirasoles”, en la ciudad de Salta. Esto generó inconvenientes en cuanto al creciente tráfico y la accesibilidad hacia, y desde, Vaqueros, puesto que la única vía de comunicación entre Salta y la mencionada localidad es el puente Vaqueros y la falta de infraestructura es evidente. Para solucionar este problema se planteó un cruce aguas arribas del puente existente; para eso se realizó una caracterización física de la cuenca que desemboca en el puente del Rio Vaqueros y luego se calculó y analizó los datos hidrológicos y el caudal máximo con base en las curvas IDR. Todo esto con el objetivo de realizar el estudio morfológico y calcular el caudal máximo de creciente de la cuenca. Y con esos datos establecer el lugar óptimo y las características que debe llevar el nuevo cruce hacia Vaqueros, ya sea un puente, cruce peatonal, badén o cualquier otra alternativa que se concluya necesaria. Una vez finalizado el estudio hídrico de la cuenca del río Vaqueros, se propuso como alternativa de cruce del río un puente a la altura de la rotonda de la ruta 28 del barrio “El Huaico” y para obtener un valor de socavación, se realizó un predimensionado del puente.Fil: Lesser, Néstor. Caudales de diseño en cuencas de la provincia de Salta ; Design flow discharges in basins of the province of Salta
Para poder dimensionar infraestructura hídrica en una localización es necesario contar con caudales de diseño asociados a diferentes tiempos de retorno. En la provincia de Salta, debido a que en la mayoría de las cuencas no se cuenta con registros históricos suficientes de caudales como para realizar un análisis estadístico de ellos, si se desean estimar los caudales e hidrogramas de diseño asociados a diferentes recurrencias es necesario aplicar un modelo de transformación lluvia-caudal; asociando los caudales a las recurrencias de las precipitaciones y, por ende, asumiendo que las tormentas de proyecto y los picos de caudales que estas generan poseen la misma recurrencia. Este trabajo presenta el cálculo de caudales e hidrogramas de diseño en diferentes cuencas de interés de la provincia de Salta. La información que se presenta no pretende ser un reemplazo de las técnicas clásicas de análisis y procesamiento hidrológico sino un valor de referencia a nivel regional. Para generar la información de base se emplearon modelos de transformación lluvia-caudal, a partir de precipitaciones asociadas a diferentes probabilidades de ocurrencia (recurrencias). Se desarrollaron modelos hidrológicos en 17 cuencas de la provincia, generando así una importante base de datos (la cual será de suma utilidad en el futuro). Los resultados alcanzados resultan fundamentales para proyectar obras de infraestructura hídrica destinadas a mitigar el riesgo hídrico.
In order to size water infrastructure in a location, it is necessary to have design flows associated with different return times. In the province of Salta, since most of the basins do not have sufficient historical flow records to perform a statistical analysis of them, if we wish to estimate the design flows and hydrographs associated with different recurrences it is necessary to apply a rainfallflow transformation model; associating the flows to the rainfall recurrences and, therefore, assuming that the project storms and the flow peaks they generate have the same recurrence. This work presents the calculation of flow rates and design hydrographs in different basins of interest in the province of Salta. The information presented is not intended to replace the classical hydrological analysis and processing techniques, but to be a reference value at regional level. Rainfall-flow transformation models were used to generate the basic information, based on rainfall associated with different probabilities of occurrence (recurrences). Hydrological models were developed in 17 basins of the province, thus generating an important database (which will be extremely useful in the future). Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more

We have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
