No full textI principi di concorrenza e mercato, fondati sui condivisibili presupposti di favorire la libera iniziativa e stimolare la crescita, gli investimenti e l’occupazione, lasciati in totale autonomia stanno plasmando l’esistenza delle persone e la loro cognizione della vita. L’economia non pare più un metodo che contribuisce allo sviluppo dell’uomo ma, al contrario, l’essere umano sembra divenuto un ingranaggio di funzionamento del sistema economico, per cui è stimolata la conformità nei comportamenti e la vita è vista come una gara dove si vince se si è più produttivi ed efficienti. Una vita spinta da una visione del progresso inteso come progresso economico, misurato dalla crescita del PIL, e tecnologico, indipendentemente dal suo utilizzo, che accantona la dimensione sociale del vivere assieme.
In un mondo come questo, un professore universitario di management, con una lunga carriera alle spalle, non può non chiedersi se il suo ruolo principale sia di aiutare i giovani ad aprire la propria mente per capire e affrontare una complessità crescente, dopo essersi chiariti il quale sia il proprio progetto di vita. Oppure deve contribuire ad allevare criceti che facciano girare sempre più velocemente la ruota dell’economia

Dopo brevi indicazioni sulle principali differenze tra potere e violenza (grazie ai lavori di Byong-Chul Han e Hanna Arendt) e il loro rapporto con libertà e democrazia, si vedrà come il dominio economico possa sfociare anche in violenza non visibile che incide sulla libertà delle persone e la loro uguaglianza nella società

No full textIl benessere sociale dovrebbe essere un mezzo per garantire alla comunità degli esseri umani una sopravvivenza dignitosa consentendo loro la ricerca della felicità. Gli strumenti economico finanziari hanno cambiato l’aggettivo sociale in individuale e hanno trasformato il mezzo in fine, identificandolo con il profitto, che è così divenuto lo scopo misurabile dell’agire umano, e non uno strumento del suo benessere. L’attuale incapacità dell’economia di valorizzare la persona, se non da un punto di vista economico finanziario, costituisce un problema etico di portata immensa per il genere umano e non risolverlo significherebbe metterne a rischio la sua stessa sopravvivenza

No full textPresenteremo all’inizio che etica significa vivere assieme con responsabilità e cosa questo comporti. Analizzeremo poi come tale responsabilità sia stata declinata dal punto di vista economico aziendale, con il rischio di trasformare un mezzo, l’economia di mercato, in un fine che guida ogni azione umana e trasforma il vivere assieme in una società di mercato. La consapevolezza della necessità di vivere bene insieme agli altri ha recentemente cercato di conciliare gli obiettivi di profitto delle imprese con la generazione di valore al contesto sociale in cui operano. Osserveremo infine che la responsabilità sociale riguarda non solo la propria generazione ma anche quelle future, alla luce del fatto che la crescita economica, acceleratasi molto dopo la fine della Seconda Guerra Mondiale, sta condizionando molto negativamente le condizioni di vita del nostro pianeta
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
