Antonio Bonet. Explanadas y patios
FINANCING COMMUNITY FACILITIES: A CASE STUDY OF THE PARKS AND RECREATIONAL GENERAL OBLIGATION BOND MEASURE OF SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA
This study of the City of San Jose’s Parks and Recreation General Obligation (GO) Bond Measure seeks to identify the politics-, management-, and planning-related lessons learned by the City as it developed its community facilities using the GO bonds proceeds. The study finds that these lessons include: be conservative in what you promise the residents; be prepared for changes in economic environment by identifying supplementary funding sources should the primary source not yield adequate funds; make sure that the jurisdiction is organizationally capable of handling the increased workload; and prepare detailed project plans prior to the bond issuance.Community Infrastructure and Services; Municipal Bonds; Public Finance
Solid hulls and cores of weighted H-infinity-spaces
[EN] We determine the solid hull and solid core of weighted Banach spaces H-upsilon(infinity) of analytic functions functions f such that upsilon vertical bar f vertical bar is bounded, both in the case of the holomorphic functions on the disc and on the whole complex plane, for a very general class of radial weights upsilon. Precise results are presented for concrete weights on the disc that could not be treated before. It is also shown that if H-upsilon(infinity) is solid, then the monomials are an (unconditional) basis of the closure of the polynomials in H-upsilon(infinity). As a consequence H-upsilon(infinity) does not coincide with its solid hull and core in the case of the disc. An example shows that this does not hold for weighted spaces of entire functions. The research of Bonet was partially supported by the project MTM2016-76647-P. Antoni Bonet, as it is known, had worked and collaborated with Sert and Torres Clavé during his time at University, when he also joined the GATCPAC as a student partner. Whilst attending the 4th CIAM he met Le Corbusier. He finished his studies in 1936 and soon afterwards he moved to Paris to work in his office. In Paris he befriended some fellow Argentinian architects who influenced his decision to choose Buenos Aires as his destination of exile in 1938. The Plan for La Manga coincided with the return of Bonet to Spain in 1959 after his stay in Argentina and constituted the peak of his professional career
Solid hulls of weighted Banach spaces of entire functions
[EN] Given a continuous, radial, rapidly decreasing weight v on the complex plane, we study the solid hull of its associated weighted space H¿v(C) of all the entire functions f such that v|f| is bounded. The solid hull is found for a large class of weights satisfying the condition (B) of Lusky. Precise formulations are obtained for weights of the form v(r)= exp(¿arp),a>0,p>0. Applications to spaces of multipliers are included. The research of Bonet was partially supported by MTM2013-43540-P, GVA Prometeo II/2013/013 and GVA ACOMP/2015/186.
