Analyse van Gentse niche-initiatieven inzake buurtvoedselinfrastructuur
No full textIn het vak ‘Duurzame steden’ werden in het academiejaar 2024-2025 verschillende niche-initiatieven verkend rond het jaarthema ‘Buurtvoedselinfrastructuur: sociale infrastructuur als motor voor de stedelijke voedseltransitie’. Studenten analyseerden de samenwerking CSA Goedinge – 404; UGent Resto Coupure; Sociaal restaurant Toreke; Volkskeuken ’t Assez; Fietskeuken Meubelfabriek: en de Sociale kruidenier Rabot. Naast een beschrijving van het algemeen opzet, werden telkens de duurzaamheidsambities, het netwerk en het lerend vermogen rond elk initiatief geschetst. Elke analyse bevatte ook reflecties over de niche-regime interacties en de gevolgde transitiepaden. Een uitdagend plaatsgebaseerd perspectief gaf tevens inzicht in hoe tal van ruimtelijke schalen en andere socio-technische systemen de plaats van het niche-initiatief (kunnen) doorkruisen. De docenten reikten hiervoor theoretische en analytische kaders aan vanuit transitiestudies, duurzaamheidsdenken en stedelijkheid (i.c. publicaties over het politieke karakter van duurzaamheid en transformatie; Strategic Niche Management; en Place-based approaches). Tot slot stoffeerde ook een kritische vergelijking met een uitdagend referentieproject de evaluerende slotreflecties over de kracht, zwakten en opschaalbaarheid van het initiatief. In deze publicatie gaan de docenten eerst in op de situering, de theoretisch-analytische kaders en richtlijnen van deze opdracht, waarna de analyses van de verschillende niche-initiatieven door de studenten volgen

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
