RECHERCHES SUR L'INTERACTION ENTRE ALIMENTATION, REPRODUCTION ET LACTATION CHEZ LA LAPINE, UNE REVUE
[EN] The rabbit doe, at the beginning of its reproductiva activity
(first pregnancy first lactation or first" concurrent pregnancy
and lactation), hás a negativa energy and material balance.
The net body composition at the first parturition changes
definitely during lactation, with an important loss of lipids
(about - 40 %) and energy (- 20 %). lf the rabbit doe is
concurrently pregnant, the energy deficit becomes greater
and the nitrogen and mineral balances become negativa as
well. Consequently the second kindling litter size is lower,
(- 10 % of total youngs born and - 20 % of rabbits born
alive). Moreover, the composition of new born pups shows a
lower lipid content which can influences negatively their
viability. The energy and nitrogen requirements for
maintenance, and the coefficients of utilization of digestible
energy (DE) and digestible proteins (DP) for milk energy and protein production are given. In the case of a negativa
balance, the coefficients of utilization of body energy and
protein for milk production are also reportad.
The author's research had also the object of studying the
effect of the diet on the reproductiva performance of does. In
particular, the increase of energy intake due to diets
supplemented with fat causes an increase of milk production,
which is favourable for the litter but does not reduce the
maternal energy deficit. In addition, the number of pups born
alive at the second parturition is negatively affected.
A single "feeding strategy" is not able to solve the problem of
nutritiva deficit or avoid the unwanted effects of the
concurrent pregnancy and lactation. Therefore we have to
operate at breeding level, programming a less intensiva
remating system, reducing the number of suckling youngs
and preparing the future reproducing does from their
Parigi-Bini, R.; Xiccatto, G. (1993). RECHERCHES SUR L'INTERACTION ENTRE ALIMENTATION, REPRODUCTION ET LACTATION CHEZ LA LAPINE, UNE REVUE. World Rabbit Science. 1(4). https://doi.org/10.4995/wrs.1993.209SWORD1
Is there a quantum gravity effect on the cosmic microwave background power spectrum?
An assessment is made of recent attempts to evaluate how quantum gravity may affect the anisotropy spectrum of the cosmic microwave background. A perturbative scheme for the solution of the Wheeler-DeWitt equation has been found to allow for enhancement of power at large scales, whereas the alternative predicts a suppression of power at large scales. Both effects are corrections which, although conceptually interesting, turn out to be too small to be detected. Another scheme relies upon a Born-Oppenheimer analysis: by using a perturbative approach to the nonlinear ordinary differential equation obeyed by the two-point function for scalar fluctuations, a new family of power spectra has been obtained and studied by the author

Abstract
OBJECTIVE:
Systemic autoimmune diseases, in particular systemic lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis, are characterized by a high risk of premature cardiovascular (CV) events. Disease-related characteristics and traditional CV disease risk factors may contribute to atherosclerotic damage. However, there are limited data on the risk of overt CV events in primary Sjögren's syndrome (pSS).
METHODS:
We retrospectively analysed a cohort of patients with 1343 pSS. Disease-related clinical and laboratory data, traditional CV disease risk factors and overt CV events were recorded. Prevalence of traditional CV disease risk factors and of major CV events was compared between a subgroup of 788 female patients with pSS aged from 35 to 74 years and 4774 age-matched healthy women.
RESULTS:
Hypertension and hypercholesterolaemia were more prevalent, whereas smoking, obesity and diabetes mellitus were less prevalent, in women with pSS than in control subjects. Cerebrovascular events (2.5% vs. 1.4%, P = 0.005) and myocardial infarction (MI) (1.0% vs. 0.4%, P = 0.002) were more common in patients with pSS. In the whole population, central nervous system involvement (odds ratio (OR) 5.6, 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.35-23.7, P = 0.02) and use of immunosuppressive therapy (OR 1.9, 95% CI 1.04-3.70, P = 0.04) were associated with a higher risk of CV events. Patients with leucopenia had a higher risk of angina (P = 0.01).
CONCLUSIONS:
pSS is associated with an increased risk of cerebrovascular events and MI. Disease-related clinical and immunological markers may have a role in promoting CV events.

A topological look at human trabecular bone tissue
Bone quality is affected by trabecular architecture at microscopic level. Various abnormalities of bone tissue lead to altered strength and to an increased susceptibility to fracture, such as Osteoporosis and Osteoarthritis, two major health burdens of our society. These are two complex musculoskeletal diseases that mainly concern bone tissue. In the last twenty years, there has been a growing interest in finding an appropriate topological model for the micro-architecture of trabecular bone tissue. In particular, we prove that these models involve general topological spaces. The appropriate notion to deal with is that of CW-comple

This paper aims at analyzing the conditioning factors that culminated in mass movements November 2008 in Gaspar city. The study area is located in the middle valley of Itajai-Açu River, formed by dissected hills, mountains, mounds and accumulation in floodplain and colluvial ramps. To understand the processes of mass movements in the study area, we analyzed the characteristics of climate, geological and geomorphological features such as rock type, the presence of faults and fractures, modeled and features, hang section, slope shape, hypsometry and land use characteristics. To better understand the mechanisms that involve the rupture process for the occurrence of mass movements in the study area, four sites were selected to perform the study of detail, where samples were collected for analysis and particle size were measured tension and friction angle. The procedures for this analysis were supported in the interpretation of aerial photographs, satellite images and field work. Ninety six mass movements marking were mapped which occurred mostly in November 2008 disaster. Mass movements were regnant in concave slopes segments and lithologies related to the Itajai Group, predominant in the study area. Among the ninety six mass movements, landslides were causing more damage to the population, and the slip of the Sertão Verde neighborhood resulted in eight fatal victims and hundreds of homes damaged or wrecked. Belchior Baixo neighborhood was very reached too, occurring in a slip Adam Schmitt Street held in two fatal victims. The mass movements susceptibility is part of the physical environment, but many slope cuts operations to roads construction and residential occupation are actions that enhance the process. It is hoped that this research can provide grants to public agencies for actions in the risk areas management, as well as guidelines for use and occupation of the land, to prevent new susceptible to mass movement areas are occupied, thus reducing the possibility of further disasters
