No full textHere is the first of two paperback books of La Fontaine's fables redone and fleshed out in Occitan, a dialect around Nimes. I found it after discovering the second volume and that that was a second volume. Together the two volumes seem to cover the whole output of Bigot's fables. Bigot died in 1897 and was apparently well known for his writing in Occitan. These are verse fables with facing translations into more normal French, with helpful line drawings about one to a fable. The beginning T of C is surprisingly inaccurate. GA, for example, is on 86-91, not 77-82. How do these adaptations compare with La Fontaine? I am guessing that they are written partially out of a delight over the dialect's particular gifts. They seem to include added place names in the region. I have read three, and the adaptations are different. GA is expanded to include a rather long commentary on the story as the creation of know-nothing scholars. "Give me farmers and their wisdom!" seems to be the tone of the main speaker. MM (104-109) seems much closer to its original, though the tone of the ending may be more admonitory than La Fontaine's compassionate "Who of us does not build castles in Spain?" 2W (134-39) gets into more detail about how the women take the man's hair and is more critical of them as after his money. Together the two volumes seem to cover the whole output of Bigot's fables. Bigot died in 1897 and was apparently well known for his writing in Occitan. These are verse fables with facing translations into more normal French, with helpful line drawings every few fables. Sometimes the same line-drawing appears after both the Occitan and the French versions. I am guessing that they are written partially out of a delight over the dialect's particular gifts. They seem to include added place names in the region. I have read three. DW (36-42) aligns with La Fontaine's sentiments but is expanded with more detail and more colloquial chatter. Bigot, like La Fontaine, sees something in the wolf's self-respect. FG (116-19) is quite philosophical. "Il faut savoir…renoncer a ce qui est trop en l'air." Microstructure investigation and flow behavior during thixoextrusion of M2 steel grade
No full textThe microstructure investigation and flow behavior during thixoforging of M2 steel parts were investigated. Partial remelting was performed at processing temperatures ranging from 1290 ◦C to 1340 ◦C corresponding to a liquid fraction range between 10% and 30% (according to differential scanning calorimetry measurements and quantitative image analyses). A conventional microstructure for thixoforming process was obtained: spherical solid grains surrounded by liquid phase. The microstructure across the heated billets was relatively homogeneous with bigger grain size near the surface. Successful thixoextrusion for producing parts was finally achieved at processing temperatures. By investigating the microstructure and load-displacement curves, different mechanisms in various forming stages were proposed
