Il lessico musicale del corpus frottolistico di Ottaviano Petrucci (1504-1514)
Get PDFThe doctoral thesis consists in the collection and study of the specificity of texts and intonations of the corpus frottolistico printed by Ottaviano Petrucci between Venice and Fossombrone from 1504 to 1514. This repertoire, which is configured as the result of the attempt to sing traditional songs predominantly oral in an Italian vernacular language structured in such a way as to become worthy of being placed in polyphony, in recent decades it has been the subject of numerous specialized studies and critical editions. With respect to these, the present work, which is based on the systematic analysis of 653 compositions, is a synthesis, completion and linking tool, with the aim of identifying, collecting, sorting and discussing the different elements that distinguish the frottolistic repertoire. level of vocabulary, syntax and rhetoric, with reference both to texts and to music and to their mutual interferences. The thesis is structured in two distinct but complementary sections. The first part includes an introductory study which, starting from the analysis of the state of the art, arrives at identifying the specificity of the textual and musical lexicon of Ottaviano Petrucci's corpus frottolistico. The second section includes a glossary, a catalog of texts and a catalog of music. With the criterion of the alphabetical order and the support of the most up-to-date bibliography and the most authoritative lexical and grammatical repertoires, all the rare and polysemous terms have been indexed, not easy to understand especially for the performers. Similarly, citations, formulas, thematic cycles, responses, referrals and migrant lines were examined in the catalog of texts and music, in order to fix their origin, context and function. A musical appendix gives reason for all the observations collected in the music catalog. The results thus obtained now make available to scholars and performers a review finally complete not only of witnesses, sources, repertoires and bibliography of the corpus frottolistico of Ottaviano Petrucci, but also of all the elements originating from the choices made by Petrucci and composers who they collaborated on his publishing business.La tesi di dottorato consiste nella raccolta e nello studio delle specificità relative ai testi e alle intonazioni del corpus frottolistico stampato da Ottaviano Petrucci tra Venezia e Fossombrone dal 1504 al 1514. Questo repertorio, che si configura come il risultato del tentativo di intonare canti di tradizione prevalentemente orale in una lingua volgare italiana strutturata in modo tale da diventare degna di essere posta in polifonia, negli ultimi decenni è stato oggetto di numerosi studi specialistici e di edizioni critiche. Rispetto ad esse, il presente lavoro, che si basa sull’analisi sistematica di ben 653 composizioni, si pone come strumento di sintesi, completamento e collegamento, allo scopo di individuare, raccogliere, ordinare e discutere i diversi elementi che contraddistinguono il repertorio frottolistico a livello di lessico, sintassi e retorica, con riferimento sia ai testi sia alla musica e alle loro reciproche interferenze. La tesi è strutturata in due sezioni distinte ma tra loro complementari. La prima parte comprende uno studio introduttivo che, partendo dall’analisi dello stato dell’arte, arriva a enucleare le specificità del lessico testuale e musicale del corpus frottolistico di Ottaviano Petrucci. La seconda sezione comprende un glossario, un catalogo dei testi e un catalogo delle musiche. Con il criterio dell’ordine alfabetico e il supporto della più aggiornata bibliografia e dei più autorevoli repertori lessicali e grammaticali, sono stati indicizzati tutti i termini rari e polisemici, di non facile comprensione soprattutto per gli esecutori. Analogamente, nel catalogo dei testi e in quello delle musiche sono stati presi in esame citazioni, formule, cicli tematici, risposte, rinvii e linee migranti, al fine di fissarne l’origine, il contesto e la funzione. Un’appendice musicale dà ragione di tutte le osservazioni raccolte nel catalogo delle musiche. I risultati così ottenuti mettono ora a disposizione degli studiosi e degli esecutori una rassegna finalmente completa non solo di testimoni, fonti, repertori e bibliografia del corpus frottolistico di Ottaviano Petrucci, ma anche di tutti gli elementi originati dalle scelte effettuate dal Petrucci e dai compositori che hanno collaborato alla sua impresa editoriale
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
