Dataset of mRNA levels for dopaminergic receptors, adrenoceptors and tyrosine hydroxylase in lymphocytes from subjects with clinically isolated syndromes
This data article presents a dataset of mRNA levels for dopaminergic receptors, adrenoceptors and for tyrosine hydoxylase, the rate-limiting enzyme in the synthesis of catecholamines, in peripheral blood mononuclear cells as well as in CD4+ T effector and regulatory cells from subjects with clinically isolated syndromes (CIS), which is a first episode of neurological disturbance(s) suggestive of multiple sclerosis. CIS subjects are divided into two groups according to their eventual progression, after 12 months from CIS, to clinically established multiple sclerosis. The data reported are related to the article entitled "Dopaminergic receptors and adrenoceptors in circulating lymphocytes as putative biomarkers for the early onset and progression of multiple sclerosis" (M. From twists and shifts to L‐R asymmetric D‐branes
In the first part of the talk, we discuss non-geometric twists and shifts and briefly review asymmetric orbifolds and free fermion constructions. These allow us to build Type IIB models with N = 1(L) + 1(R) and N = 1(L) + 0(R) models having few or no moduli. We then consider unoriented projections of the former and ('exotic') D-branes in the latter. In the second part, devoted to L-R asymmetric D-branes, we review how extended supergravity vacua in D = 4 can be embedded in Type II superstrings. We then identify bound states of D-branes with residual susy and non-trivial R-R couplings. We discuss the N = 6 = 2(L) + 4(R) case in detail and sketch other extended susy cases. Finally we describe the resulting open string excitations. We conclude with some speculations and possible interesting developments

Bound-states of D-branes in L-R asymmetric superstring vacua
We discuss bound-states of D-branes in truly L-R asymmetric and thus non-geometric Type II vacuum configurations with extended supersymmetry. We argue for their stability as a result of residual supersymmetry and coupling to R-R potentials surviving in the massless spectrum. We then identify the open string excitations of these L-R asymmetric BPS D-branes. Finally, we briefly comment on possible applications and extensions. We discuss bound-states of D-branes in truly L-R asymmetric and thus non-geometric Type II vacuum configurations with extended supersymmetry. A case of subclavian-axillary vein thrombosis prompted us to review the recentliterature on the subject. Paget-Shroetter disease is an uncommon disease, which is still associated with high early and late morbidity rates and the prevention of which requires early diagnosis and treatment. The importance of trauma (in the form of physical strain) in determining the symptoms of the disease is universally accepted. We observed subclavian-axillary vein thrombosis in a young
22-year-old athlete who complained of unexpected onset of pain in the left armpit, spreading to the arm and to the shoulder on the same side, functional impotence of the upper arm and swelling of the hand and forearm, and engorgement
of the vessels in the arm, shoulder and clavipectoral region, which in the course of time developed the characteristics of a collateral circulation. The patient underwent phlebography which documented lack of opacification of the axillo-subclavian axis and showed the presence of a collateral circulation with dilation of the vein of the shoulder and arm. We first attempted to dissolve the thrombus by locoregional infusion of urochinase and later started anticoagulative
therapy with an intravenous infusion of heparin (10,000 IU/h after a bolus of 500 units). Because of the poor result of thrombolysis and anticoagulative therapy and the progressive worsening of the disease, the patient underwent surgery to
restore the continuity of the venous axis. The surgical procedure was performed through a skin incision along the upper edge of the collar-bone. This was dissected and the two stumps were well separated to allow a clear view of the
subclavian vein. Phlebotomy, thrombectomy and reconstruction of the venous axis with an expanded polytetrafluoroethylene patch were performed. The postoperative course was uneventful and the patient underwent phlebography again on postoperative day 8, which demonstrated complete patency of the subclavian vein,
and was discharged on postoperative day 20 on oral anticoagulative therapy

Exact Solutions for Bianchi Type-I Cosmological Models in f(R) Theory of Gravity
In this paper, we attempt to study spatially homogeneous Bianchi type-I cosmological models in f(R) theory of gravity. The exact solutions of the Einstein’s field equations (EFEs) have been obtained by assuming that the expansion θ is proportional to the shear δ and by using a special form of Hubble parameter (HP). Here we find two exact solutions by using the variation law of H based on two different values of n. The physical and geometrical properties of these models have been discussed and the function f(R) of the Ricci scalar R is obtained for each case
Modular symbols over number fields
Let K be a number field, R its ring of integers. For some classes of fields, spaces of cusp forms of weight 2 for GL(2;K) have been computed using methods based on modular symbols. J.E. Cremona [9] began the programme of extending the classical methods over Q to the case of imaginary quadratic fields. This work was continued by some of his Ph.D. students [35, 6, 22], and results have been obtained for some imaginary quadratic fields with small class number. More recently, P. Gunnells and D. Yasaki [18] have developed related algorithms for real quadratic fields.
The aim of this thesis is to contribute to the extension of the modular symbols method, when possible developing algorithms and implementations for effective computations. Some parts of the theory are purely algebraic and can be extended to all number fields. We generalise the theory for cusps and Manin symbols; we also describe a generalisation of Atkin-Lehner involutions and study other normaliser elements. On the other hand, all previous explicit computations for the imaginary quadratic field case were done only for specific fields. In the last part of this thesis we begin work towards a general implementation of the techniques used in this case. In particular, we are able to compute a fundamental domain of the hyperbolic 3-space for any imaginary quadratic field.
Implementations of the algorithms described in this thesis have been written by the author in the open-source mathematics software Sage [31]
