SVILUPPO ED EVOLUZIONE DELLA TEORIA DELLA TRADUZIONE IN UNIONE SOVIETICA: UN’INTRODUZIONE
The article presents the Italian translation of six Russian essays on translation theory, whilst simultaneously offering an overview of the evolution of this science in the Soviet Union. It highlights how Gumilev’s 1919 contribution, which was one of the earliest theoretical works dedicated to literary translation in Russia, laid the foundation for the linguistic paradigm of translation science articulated by Fedorov in 1953. Schweitzer’s 1970 essay further developed this framework by incorporating both pragmatic and functional dimensions, and adopting a multidisciplinary approach. During the same year, Etkind expressed his hopes for the development of an approach to translation based on comparative stylistics that would combine both linguistics and literature. The collection also includes two contemporary essays: Bagno 2016 which examines translation as a creative refuge for writers as of the 1920s, and Garbovsky 2016 which provides a critical synthesis of the concept of equivalence as theorized by key figures such as Schweitzer, Komissarov, and Gak

The aim of this paper is to analyse the means of expression of result relation in Italian and Russian based on a small parallel corpus of children’s literature. Firstly, result relation is described in order to find its forms of expression in the two languages. This particular kind of causal relation includes the idea that the effect necessarily takes place when the cause reaches a critical degree. These components cannot be inferred, only activated as conventional implicatures of a grading intensifier like talmente (‘so’). This is why result relation is described as a case of overcoding (see Prandi 2004: 298-299).
The study of the expression of purposive interclausal relation revealed that loose coordination prevails in Russian, whilst tighter subordination dominates in Italian (see Biagini 2012a). For this reason, the hypothesis of this paper was that result constructions should be more frequent in Italian, while in Russian cases of juxtaposition or coordination in which a causal relation could be inferred were expected.
In the aforementioned case, the results do not confirm the hypothesis as the data show a predominance of result constructions in Russian texts. However, the comparative study enabled us to highlight how result constructions can be rendered in translation in some cases by relative clauses, too...to clauses, or modal expressions. Moreover, less studied means were singled out which can totally or partially express the idea of intensification up to a critical degree and inevitable effect in both languages. For example, in Italian they range from adjectives and augmentative suffixes, to verb reduplication or triplication, such as risero, risero, risero (‘they laughed and laughed and laughed’) and phrasal prepositions , such as a furia di (‘by persisting in’)
The Expression of Factual Concessive Relation in Italian and Russian
The aim of this paper is to identify and compare the means of expression of factual concessive relation in Italian and Russian on the basis of a bidirectional parallel corpus. Factual concessive relation, as a consistent and shared relational concept which can be defined independently of its linguistic expression, can be used as a tertium comparationis.
Some differences in terminology in Russian and Italian research literature on the topic shall be considered before starting data analysis. The content of factual concessive relation is subsequently defined in order to find and describe its forms of expression in the two languages.
The study of the expression of purposive interclausal relation revealed that loose coordination prevails in Russian while tighter subordination dominates in Italian (Biagini 2012). For this reason, the paper aimed to determine whether Russian and Italian show different preferences in the forms they choose for the expression of concessive relation.
In the aforementioned case, the results do not confirm a predominance of juxtaposition or coordination in Russian when compared with Italian. Differences in the patterns of equilibrium between inference and coding strategies in the two languages were not highlighted either. It would be useful to verify these results on a larger parallel corpus. This would also make it possible to point out the functional equivalence of some means of expression in Russian and Italian
Long-Term Yield in an Affine HJM Framework on
edeveloptheHJMframeworkforforwardratesdrivenbyaffineprocesses on the state space of symmetric positive semidefinite matrices. In this setting we find an explicit representation for the long-term yield in terms of the model parameters. This generalises the results of El Karoui et al. (Rev Deriv Res 1(4):351–369, 1997) and Biagini and Härtel (Int J Theor Appl Financ 17(3):1–24, 2012), where the long-term yield is investigated under no-arbitrage assumptions in a HJM setting using Brownian motions and Lévy processes respectively
Liquidity Based Modeling of Asset Price Bubbles via Random Matching
In this paper we study the evolution of asset price bubbles driven by contagion effects spreadingamong investors via a random matching mechanism in a discrete-time version of the liquidity basedmodel of [R. A. Jarrow, P. Protter, and A. F. Roch,Quant. Finance, 12 (2012), pp. 1339--1349].To this scope, we extend the Markov conditionally independent dynamic directed random matchingof [D. Duffie, L. Qiao, and Y. Sun,J. Econ. Theory, 174 (2018), pp. 124--183] to a stochasticsetting to include stochastic exogenous factors in the model. We derive conditions guaranteeing thatthe financial market model is arbitrage-free and present some numerical simulation illustrating ourapproach
General Analysis of Long-Term Interest Rates
We introduce here the idea of a long-term swap rate, characterized as the fair rate of an overnight indexed swap (OIS) with infinitely many exchanges
Descrizione semantico-funzionale delle particelle russe e corpora paralleli. Un’analisi contrastiva (italiano-russo)corpus-based di ved’
This paper analyses the use of the Russian functional marker ved’ based on the Russian-Italian parallel corpus within the Russian National Corpus. Data show that in over 50% of examples ved’ is used to enhance the illocutionary strength of a sentence, helping the inferential process of a relation of motive with the preceding phrase. ved’ also occurs in both interrogative sentences in order to verify knowledge, with different
pragmatic effects depending on the context, and complex sentences, where it acquires a factual meaning and functions as a text cohesion device. The extensive range of possible Italian translations of ved’ is a sign of its language specificity
