Impact of RFID on the Retail Value Chain: An Exploratory Study Using a Mixed Method Approach

    No full text
While several large retailers have mandated RFID deployment across their value chains, the case for RFID adoption in retail still remains uncertain. This paper aims at providing a realistic perspective of the immense potential of RFID, taking adoption drivers, potential benefits, and implementation challenges into account. In this paper, a mixed methodological approach is used that caters to the exploratory nature of the work to quantitatively analyze RFID adoption drivers, benefits, and implementation challenges. First content analysis is applied to analyze academic and trade articles to come up with key issues and concepts. The results from the content analysis acted as input for a Delphi study which is the second methodology. The combined results from the two methods provide deep insights and enhance understanding of important implementation issues related to RFID adoption in the retail sector and also aid in drawing meaningful managerial conclusions

A Conceptual Framework of RFID Adoption in Retail Using TOE Framework

    No full text
Motivated by the need to understand the underlying antecedents of RFID adoption in retail, this study proposes and tests a framework predicting RFID adoption intent. Based on the TOE (technology-organization-environment) framework, this research develops and validates the research framework to examine the influence of twelve contextual factors under four broad categories (technological, organizational, environmental, and value-chain) on RFID adoption in retail. A structured study instrument is developed to measure these variables and data are collected from 74 experts spread across different business associations through Delphi technique. Multivariate discriminant analysis (MDA) is used to develop the conceptual framework for RFID adoption. The results indicate that relative advantage, competitive pressure, catalyst agent, and value chain complexity are significant determinants of RFID adoption in retail. It suggests that environmental characteristics are very important to be considered in RFID adoption studies along with technological and value chain characteristics. </jats:p

Determinants of Perceived Job Satisfaction From ERP-enabled Emergency Service Adoption: An Empirical Study

    No full text
The present study applies partial least square (PLS) algorithm to identify key antecedents that influence perceived job satisfaction due to the implementation of an ERP-enabled shared platform by emergency services organizations. Using data collected from 193 ERP users we developed and tested two research models primarily based on extending technology acceptance (TAM) model taking contextual task characteristics into account. From the results we found that perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, and compatibility positively influence users’ behavioral attitude toward ERP system which in turn positively influence users’ perceived job satisfaction. Finally, the implications of the study as well as future research directions are presente

MAPPING OF RESEARCH TRENDS OF MALAYSIAN JOURNAL OF LIBRARY AND INFORMATION SCIENCE - A SCIENTOMETRIC ANALYSIS

    No full text
The present study aims to investigate a mapping of 211 research articles published in the Malaysian Journal of Library and Information Science (MJLIS) between 2011 and 2020. The scientometric analysis emphasizes Issue-wise & Volume-wise distribution of articles, authorship pattern, and most prolific author, length of articles, reference distribution, and geographical distribution. Out of 210 articles, the majority of 174 (82.86%) articles were multiple authorship publications and 36 (17.14%) were single-author publications. The study came out with an Authorship pattern showing a majority of contributions from collaborative authors, a maximum contributed by 159 authors. Malaysia has the highest number of contributing authors, followed by China (84), Iran (53), etc. Renowned author Prof. Dr. A. Abrizah, University of Malaya, Malaysia is the most prolific contributor with 18 research articles during 2011-2020. Out of 210, 159 (75.71%) articles in domestic collaboration. The majority of 163 (77.62%) research articles were published within a page length of 11-20 pages. Total 7769 references were cited from 210 research articles with an average of 37 per article. The scientometric tools such as Annual Growth Rate (AGR), Degree of Collaboration (DC), Collaboration Index (CI), Collaborative Coefficient (CC), and Modified Collaborative Coefficient (MCC) were also used to analyze the data and interpretation. The outcomes achieved from the present study constitute a roadmap for intensifying the scholarly research in the field of library and information science

A Delphi Study of RFID Applicable Business Processes and Value Chain Activities in Retail

    No full text
For this research we use Delphi technique to identify the key business processes and value chain activities that are improved by RFID. Our Delphi study involves 74 experts from different domains such as consulting, retail, academia, and third party service providers. We also explored whether there is any difference in expert perceptions about RFID applicable business processes and value chain activities across different business associations

A Scientometrics analysis of Ovarian Cancer Research during 2010 to 2019: with special reference to South Asian contribution

A scientometrics analysis of ovarian cancer research during 2010 to 2019 is performed in this study. It is an attempt to find out the various scientometrics indicators such as: type of document wise distribution, authorship pattern, year wise publication, Co-occurrence of keyword. A total of 927 bibliographic records were collected from web of science database and as a data source it has been analyzed using MS excel and VOS viewer software. Kumar, S from University of Birmingham is found to be the most productive author. Multi - authorship is found to be dominant in this area of research. South Asia countries have been chosen as an area of the study and the countries that make up south Asia are Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, India, Bhutan, Afghanistan and Maldive
