GEA DOBRZAŃSKA, Z ZAKOPIAŃSKICH TCHNIEŃ, BREATH OF ZAKOPANE. BETWEEN PLOT AND REALITYThe article is an analysis of a 1914 collection of stories, Z zakopańskich tchnień Breath ofZakopane and an attempt to discover the identity of its author, Gea Dobrzańska. Dobrzańska, who came most likely from Wielkopolska, was a socially engaged writer: she collaborated withthe Na posterunku journal, the editor-in-chief of which was also part of the editorial committee of Eleuteria’s magazine. Her oeuvre suggests that she was no stranger to the ideas of Towianism and, more broadly, Romanticism. The article focuses on four stories from the collection Kartki znalezione na Antałówce, Przed czynem Before Action, Magnificat, W górach In the Mountains, the action of which takes place in Zakopane. The world presented by the author in these stories indicates that she was familiar with the reality of life in the Podhale region before the First World War and confirms her commitment to social and political causes, commitment reflected in her work.Another trail in the process of discovering Dobrzańska’s biography leads to Eleusis, a society founded by Wincenty Lutosławski. The writer’s links to this organisation, promoting abstinence and spiritual development, are suggested both by elements from her biography and by her literary oeuvre. GEA DOBRZAŃSKA, Z ZAKOPIAŃSKICH TCHNIEŃ, BREATH OF ZAKOPANE. Fault Detection and Diagnosis of Industrial Heat Pumps of GEA B.V.

    No full text
Heat pumps represent an effective technology to convert electrical energy to thermal energy through the expansion and compression of a refrigerant. Heat pumps are becoming increasingly more efficient which decreases energy consumption. However as heat pumps are getting increasingly more efficient, complexity is also increasing which leads to failures.GEA is one of Europe’s largest providers of industrial heat pumps, delivering a variety of different industrial heat pumps for food production, breweries, waste heat recovery, and thermal power plants. As industrial heat pump systems are becoming increasingly complex, so is the task of detecting faults in the systems. Whenever a heat pump breaks down it is challenging to see what the reason for the failure is without visual inspection. A typical service engineer will have data from over 20 sensors, each with over two and a half million measurement intervals, to inspect and look for the cause of failure. Visual inspection of the heat pump systems can only be done by experienced engineers who knowsexactly what to look for and where to look for it.As heat pumps have been developing so has the sensor technology and computational resources available in modern computers. Over the last decades the price of sensors has decreased rapidly while the capability and reliability of sensors has improved. The computational power of modern computers has increased significantly while the price for these resources has decreased. Several other industries have, with the development in sensor technology and computational power, investigated the possibilities of implementing Fault Detection & Diagnosis (FDD) programs to automaticallyanalyze sensor data in order to detect failures and diagnose the failure cause. FDD programs were previously limited to critical processes, for example power plants, aerospace, or national defence. Theywere expensive programs due to the sensor requirements, the computational resource requirements and the development costs. However, as the price of sensors and computational resources has beendecreasing, FDD is becoming increasingly more popular for less critical equipment. For the past two decades FDD programs have been developed for different Heating, Ventilation, Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC&R) equipment with a special focus to refrigeration. This project aims to develop a FDD program for GEAs industrial heat pump systems. Following a literature study it was concluded that thus far, FDD programs have not been utilized for heat pump systems of this complexity. It was seen that most FDD programs use a quantitative, qualitative or process history based approach to detect faults. Quantitative FDD programs aim to design a digital twin of the system at hand based on physical relations, and compare measured values to defined values forfaulty or fault-free operation. Qualitative FDD programs aim to mimick the behaviour of system experts and base decisions on previously seen failures and cases. Process history based FDD programs aimto learn how systems should ideally behave through an abundance of operational data, and compare systems to sampled data. The FDD program for GEA uses a qualitative approaches for all faults where expert knowledge is available. For faults not seen before, a process history based approach classifies operation as faulty orfault-free. The complexity of the faults and the system do not allow for a quantitative FDD program. A predefined list of in total 23 faults was agreed upon, the FDD program further aims to detect all 23 failures and diagnose the failure cause. The project is meant as a proof of concept for GEA. By proving that an off-line FDD program is possible, GEA can ultimately implement the algorithms used in this off-line FDD program in to the control system of the heat pumps to increase the reliability of their heat pumps and detect faults as they are occurring.Mechanical Engineerin

    No full text
This study aims to examine the relationship between author collaboration and citation count in the Social Science Computer Review journal from 2016 to 2022. The research method used is associative research. Data collection was conducted using documentation techniques with an analysis unit consisting of 380 articles. The results show that out of the 380 analyzed articles, 308 articles (81%) were produced by collaborative authors and 72 articles (19%) were written by single authors. To determine the type of authorship of the articles, bibliometric analysis was carried out by measuring the degree of collaboration. The degree of collaboration in 2016 was 0.8, in 2017 it was 0.73, in 2018 it was 0.8, in 2019 and 2020 it was 0.85, and in 2022 it was 0.82. The average degree of collaboration during the 2016–2022 period was 0.80. In the Social Science Computer Review journal from 2016 to 2022, there was no significant relationship between single authorship and citation count, with a correlation coefficient of (ρ = 0.16). However, there was a very strong relationship between collaborative authorship and citation count, with a correlation coefficient of (ρ = 0.93). The direction of the relationship is positive, meaning that the more articles produced by collaborative authors, the higher the number of citations those articles receive.97 PagesSkripsi Sarjan

During vegetation studies in the Netherlands by the author, a strong need was felt for a key to sterile specimens of species belonging to the genera Ononis, Melilotus, Medicago, and Trifolium. The key presented here is intended for all species of these genera that occur naturally in the Netherlands. This key should be regarded as provisional and users are asked to inform the author of corrections and improvements

Analysis of Textual Meaning and Melodic Structure of Three Pop Songs by Wiranis Production

    No full text
This research discusses the three most popular songs created by the Wiranis Production group sung by Anis Gea. Wiranis Production is a music management from Medan that successfully publishes regional pop songs using several regional languages from the province of North Sumatra. The Wiranis Production management team currently has three different YouTube platforms to publish all their works. Each channel is named Wiranis Production (Batak Toba songs), Gea Musik (Nias songs) and Wiranis Karo Musik (Batak Karo songs). There are three most popular songs sung by Anis Gea as a singer from the Wiranis Production management team. The songs are Andigan do Tuhan, Sama Dengan and Godang do Nian. The meaning of the text and the melodic structure of the three pop songs of Wiranis Production are two important things that need to be studied in this research. To explain these two things, the theory used by the author to answer the analysis of the meaning of the text in this paper is Ferdinand De Saussure's semiotic theory of denotation and connotation meaning. To get the results of the analysis of the melodic structure, the weighted scale method pioneered by William P. Malm is used. The research techniques used by the author are field work and desk work (laboratory work) proposed by Bruno Netll. The author uses a qualitative method by conducting observations, interviews, audio recordings, and interviews. The results reveal that the three pop songs by Wiranis Production each have a different meaning. The song Andigan do Tuhan means hope, Sama Dengan means lies that destroy relationships and Godang do Nian means regret. The conclusion of this research shows that Wiranis Production successfully markets its songs with various regional languages such as Toba, Karo, Simalungun and Nias. And the song by Wiranis Production popularized by Anis Gea was successfully enjoyed by the people of Indonesia (North Sumatra) to the international community (Malaysia).98 PagesSkripsi Sarjan
