No full textThis contribution presents the first comprehensive survey of the protohistoric glasses found on the Altopiano dei Sette Comuni Vicentini in the sites of Monte Corgnon (Lusiana) and Bostel (Rotzo) during the excavations directed by Armando De Guio. Starting from the history of the studies, the work offers insights into the typo-chronology, stratigraphy, topography, and function of the finds considered. Also, the paper proposes and briefly discusses the preliminary results of the archaeometric analysis of the major, minor and trace elements carried out by LA-ICP-MS, as a means for understanding the raw materials, the coloring/ opacification technologies and the origin of the base glass

Visioni dall’alto dello spazio archeologico”, nato da una collaborazione tra archeologi, ingegneri aerospaziali, fisici e informatici dell’Università degli Studi di Padova. La ricerca, finanziata dall’Ateneo come “progetto innovativo degli studenti” nel 2015, si è dedicata allo studio di due diversi siti archeologici, Rotzo (VI, Italia) e Tebtynis (Egitto), indagati da tempo ma considerati ora, grazie all’opera di studenti, tecnici, ricercatori e professori dell’Università, in una nuova prospettiva che ha unito le tecnologie all’avanguardia della disciplina aerospaziale allo studio del territorio, dei documenti d’archivio e dei reperti proprio dell’archeologia

Get PDFThis report presents updates on the research of the University of Padua in the site of Bostel di Rotzo (Province of Vicenza - Northern Italy). During the years 2014-2016, the fieldwork focused on understanding the chronological sequences of sectors D and E and on the identification of the site and near-site distribution of sporadic materials in order to assess the spatial structure of the village. A new house unit of the Second Iron Age was discovered in sector D, where the excavation could also investigate the earliest phases of the site, dating back to the X-VIII century BC
