Cronologia, topografia e funzione dei siti con testimonianze micenee in Italia Meridionale

    No full text

Overcoming the planar contact geometry limitation for the measurement of transport properties and electric field distribution in X- and gamma ray detectors

Laser induced transient current technique (LI-TCT) was proven to be a successful tool for measuring at the same time carrier lifetime, carrier mobility, and electric field distribution in X- and gamma ray detectors with plain contacts on opposite surfaces. Unfortunately, the most performing detectors exploit more complicated contact geometries that, hindering hole contribution to signal formation, allow a much better spectroscopy. In this paper, a LI-TCT based method is presented, for the determination of transport parameters as well as electric field distribution directly in single carrier devices. The method's validity is demonstrated in twin CdZnTe detectors having similar material properties, but different weighting potentials

Electric field reconstruction and transport parameter evaluation in CZT X-ray detectors

The laser-induced current technique has been successful used to reconstruct the spatial profile of the electric field along the thickness of a set of CdZnTe spectroscopic X-ray detectors. Current transient profiles for electrons at different applied voltages have been analyzed by means of a minimization procedure demonstrating its applicability to samples with thickness ranging from 250 μm to 4 mm. Mobility and lifetime of electrons have been also deduced and compared with the mobility-lifetime product, as evaluated by fitting the charge collection efficiency curves under a suitable electric field profile model. Comparison between results from both techniques gives a good agreement and confirms the validity of the procedure. This method results applicable each time that carrier transit times can be evaluated from the laser-induced current transients. It could be suitable for many other devices provided that they are made of materials with sufficiently high resistivity, i.e. with a sufficiently low density of free carriers in dark conditions

Energy-efficient OECT Sensor Data Analysis on Constrained Edge Devices

A new frontier in Smart Agriculture is merging nanobiotechnology with edge computing, for on-field raw data collection and processing. Smart plant sensors communicate plant chemical signals to on-field agricultural and phenotyping equipment. Particularly promising are the Organic Electrochemical Transistors (OECTs), i.e., devices that can measure the ionic content of liquid samples and biological systems. In this work, we present and evaluate several algorithms for solving a mathematical model that describes the behavior of OECT devices, in order to translate raw values like electrical currents, to meaningful information about the monitored plant stem, e.g., the concentration of ions and water saturation. Our Rust-based algorithm implementations are energy-efficient and suitable for real-time execution on constrained edge devices, as we demonstrate providing several experimental results that concern the quality of model solution, memory footprint, execution time, and the energy cost. The experiments were carried out using two different Arm Cortex-M processors, an ultra low power one and a high performance one
