This study aims to determine the characteristics of biochar from several biomass sources using several thermolysis devices.This research was conducted in November 2017 to May 17 2018 at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra, Medan, North Sumatra. This study uses the BT 02 BT 03 manual method and the biomass, cob, husk and stem and each tool and biomass in combination. Evaluation of soil nutrient status is a way to be able to determine the needs and soil nutrient management techniques to be performed on an area of land .This study aimed to evaluate the nutrient status of the soil ( pH , N , P , K , Ca , Mg ) based on the position of the land in Inti Gambier Gardens Pakpak Bharat. It was conducted at Inti Gambier Garden Pakpak Bharat district, North Sumatera in March 2013 until June 2013. The method used in this research is descriptive method by conducting surveys and soil sampling based on the position of the land which is on the top of the hill , hillside and valley sectio. The results showed nutrient soil status of total-N in Inti Gambir Garden Plants Pakpak Bharat is likely to increase in the valley compared to the top of the hill and hillside .     ABSTRAK Skripsi ini berawal dari fenomena penyebaran kajian tafsir al-Qur’an melalui platform media sosial. Salah satu media sosial yang secara konsisten mengunggah video kajian tafsir al-Qur’an adalah channel YouTube Adi Hidayat Official. Tafsir tersebut disampaikan oleh Dr. Adi Hidayat, Lc. M.A., seorang ulama dari Pandeglang, Banten. Melalui video-video kajian tafsirnya, Ustaz Adi Hidayat berupaya mengarahkan masyarakat kembali kepada petunjuk al-Qur’an dan hadis Nabi Saw, serta menginspirasi kecintaan kepada keduanya. Mengingat bahwa sebuah karya tafsir tidak lepas dari berbagai kecenderungan mufasir, baik itu akibat kondisi sosial budaya, pengaruh politik, ilmu pengetahuan, konteks kelahiran tafsir tersebut, dan lainnya, kajian epistemologi tafsir menjadi isu keilmuan yang penting untuk dikaji guna memahami sebuah penafsiran. Artikel ini hadir untuk mengungkap secara mendalam bagaimana epistemologi pemikiran Ustaz Adi Hidayat dalam proses penafsirannya di media YouTube. Fokus kajian ini adalah membahas mengenai sumber dan metode penafsiran Ustaz Adi Hidayat dalam menjelaskan tafsir al-Qur’an, serta validitas Ustaz Adi Hidayat dalam menafsirkan al-Qur’an. Metode penelitian dalam kajian ini adalah penelitian kepustakaan (library research) dengan pendekatan kualitatif yang bersifat etnografi virtual, yaitu mengumpulkan berbagai data dan informasi yang terdapat di lingkungan online serta video-video penafsiran yang diunggah di channel YouTube Adi Hidayat Official. Data yang terkumpul kemudian dianalisis menggunakan metode deskriptif-analitis untuk menghasilkan penjelasan yang detail, lengkap, dan sistematis. Untuk memahami sumber, metode, dan validitas penafsiran Ustaz Adi Hidayat, penulis menggunakan pendekatan filsafat, yaitu epistemologi. Hasil kajian ini menunjukkan bahwa penafsiran Ustaz Adi Hidayat termasuk dalam kategori tafsir bi al-ma’tsur dan tafsir bi al-ra’yi. Ia menggunakan sumber penafsiran berupa riwayat yang sahih dan kuat, baik dari al-Qur’an maupun hadis. Ustaz Adi Hidayat juga merujuk pada hasil ijtihad dan pemikiran mufasir terdahulu dalam kitab tafsir, kaidah bahasa Arab, serta ilmu yang ditekuni olehnya. Dalam menyampaikan penafsirannya, Ustaz Adi Hidayat cenderung menggabungkan dua metode, yaitu metode mauḍhui (tematik) dan metode tahlili (analitis). Penafsiran Ustaz Adi Hidayat dinilai benar karena sesuai dengan tiga teori kebenaran dalam filsafat ilmu, yaitu teori koherensi, teori korespondensi, dan teori pragmatis. ABSTRACT This thesis begins with the phenomenon of spreading the study of the interpretation of the Qur'an through social media platforms. One of the social media that consistently uploads videos of the study of the interpretation of the Qur'an is the Adi Hidayat Official YouTube channel. The interpretation was delivered by Dr. Adi Hidayat, Lc. M.A., a scholar from Pandeglang, Banten. Through his tafsir study videos, Ustaz Adi Hidayat seeks to direct people back to the guidance of the Qur'an and the Prophet's hadith, and inspire love for both. Given that a work of tafsir cannot be separated from the various tendencies of the mufasir, whether it is due to socio-cultural conditions, political influences, science, the context of the birth of the tafsir, and others, the study of tafsir epistemology becomes an important scientific issue to be studied in order to understand an interpretation. This article is here to reveal in depth how the epistemology of Ustaz Adi Hidayat's thoughts in the process of interpretation on YouTube media. The focus of this study is to discuss the sources and methods of Ustaz Adi Hidayat's interpretation in explaining the interpretation of the Qur'an, as well as the validity of Ustaz Adi Hidayat in interpreting the Qur'an. The research method in this study is library research with a qualitative approach that is virtual ethnography, namely collecting various data and information contained in the online environment as well as interpretation videos uploaded on the Adi Hidayat Official YouTube channel. The data collected is then analyzed using descriptive-analytical methods to produce detailed, complete, and systematic explanations. To understand the sources, methods, and validity of Ustaz Adi Hidayat's interpretation, the author uses a philosophical approach, namely epistemology. The results of this study show that the interpretation of Ustaz Adi Hidayat is included in the category of tafsir bi al-ma'tsur and tafsir bi al-ra'yi. He uses sources of interpretation in the form of valid and strong narrations, both from the Qur'an and hadith. Ustaz Adi Hidayat also refers to the results of ijtihad and the thoughts of previous mufasirs in the book of interpretation, the rules of Arabic, and the science he is engaged in. In delivering his interpretation, Ustaz Adi Hidayat tends to combine two methods, namely the mauḍhui (thematic) method and the tahlili (analytical) method. Ustaz Adi Hidayat's interpretation is considered correct because it is in accordance with the three theories of truth in the philosophy of science, namely coherence theory, correspondence theory, and pragmatic theory. مستخلص البحث تنطلق هذه الورقة من ظاهرة نشر دراسة تفسير القرآن عبر فضاء وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي. ومن بين وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي التي دأبت على رفع مقاطع فيديو لدراسات تفسير القرآن الكريم قناة عدي هدايات الرسمية على اليوتيوب. وقد قام بتقديم التفسير الدكتور عدي هدايت، ماجستير. M.A. وهو عالم من بانديغلانغ، بانتن. ويحاول الأستاذ عدي هدايات من خلال فيديوهاته التفسيرية أن يعيد المجتمع إلى هدي القرآن والحديث النبوي الشريف، ويحاول أن يكون محبًا لهما معًا. معتبراً أن العمل التفسيري لا ينفصل عن الميول المختلفة للمفسر، سواء أكان ذلك ناتجاً عن الظروف الاجتماعية والثقافية، أو المؤثرات السياسية، أو العلمية، أو السياق الذي ولد فيه التفسير، وغيرها. لذا، فإن دراسة علم التفسير بالمأثور تصبح إشكالية علمية ملحة لا بد من معالجتها من أجل معرفة التفسير. وفي هذا البحث نحاول في هذا البحث أن نكشف بشكل كبير عن كيفية إبيستمولوجيا فكر الأستاذ عدي هداية في عملية التفسير على اليوتيوب. ويناقش محور الإشكال في الدراسة مصادر ومناهج تفسير الأستاذ عدي هداية في تفسير القرآن الكريم، وكذلك معايير صحة تفسير الأستاذ عدي هداية في تفسير القرآن الكريم. منهج البحث في هذه الدراسة هو البحث المكتبي ذو المنهج الكيفي الذي يتسم بطبيعة إثنوغرافية افتراضية، أي جمع البيانات والمعلومات المختلفة الموجودة في البيئة الإلكترونية بالإضافة إلى مقاطع الفيديو التفسيرية التي تم تحميلها من قبل قناة عدي هدايات الرسمية على اليوتيوب. وعلاوةً على ذلك، يتم تحليل البيانات باستخدام المنهج الوصفي التحليلي من أجل إنتاج تفسير مفصل وكامل ومنهجي. ولمعرفة مصدر تفسير الأستاذ عدي هدايات وطريقته وصحة تفسيره، يستخدم المؤلف منهجًا فلسفيًا وهو نظرية المعرفة. ومن خلال هذه الدراسة يتبين لنا أن تفسير الأستاذ عدي هداية يدخل في باب التفسير بالمأثور والتفسير بالرأي. فهو يستخدم مصادر التفسير في شكل روايات صحيحة وقوية، سواء من القرآن أو الحديث. كما يرجع الأستاذ عدي هداية إلى نتائج الاجتهاد وأفكار المفسرين السابقين في كتاب التفسير، وقواعد العربية، والعلم الذي يشتغل به. ويميل الأستاذ عدي هداية في تقديم تفسيره إلى الجمع بين طريقتين، هما الطريقة الموضوعية والطريقة التحليلية. ويُقال إن تفسير الأستاذ عدي هدايت صحيح لأنه يتوافق مع نظريات الحقيقة الثلاث في فلسفة العلم، وهي نظرية التماسك ونظرية التطابق والنظرية التطابقية والنظرية البراغماتية

    The condition of Kuala Indah Beach is dominated by piles of marine organic waste such as wood branches, sea grass, piles of stranded coral, and waste remains of clam shells so innovation is needed in managing marine organic waste by processing it into biochar and compost. This study aims to examine the chemical characteristics of marine organic waste in the form of compost and biochar. This research involved taking samples of marine organic waste which was carried out at Pantai Kuala Indah, Sei Suka District, Batu Bara Regency, then making compost and biochar was carried out at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra, then followed by analysis of compost and biochar at the Research and Technology Laboratory of the Faculty. Agriculture University of North Sumatra, Central Laboratory Assessment Agricultural Technology (BPTP), Palm Oil Research Center Laboratory (PPKS). The results of the study showed differences in the chemical characteristics of compost and biochar of marine organic waste where marine organic waste compost had the highest value in CEC, N-total, P2O5-total and K2O-total.     Micro Analysis of Structure and Elements of Biochar Made from Sawdust with Retort and Kiln Techniques

    The quality of the biochar produced is determined by the type of biomass and pyrolysis method used. Meranti wood biomass has a fairly high lignin content of around 16-33%. The results and quality of biochar can be known by microanalysis of structures and elements using microscopic techniques, namely Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) to determine the pore morphology of the biochar surface, Brunauer Emmnet Teller (BET) to determine the surface area of biochar and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) to find out the functional group. The purpose of this study is to find out the best pyrolysis technique in making wood-based biochar. This analysis was conducted at the Soil Biology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra, Medan, and at the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN). The results of this study show that there are differences in the microstructure of biochar resulting from the retort and kiln techniques. The results of pH analysis showed that biochar with the retort technique was 7.53 while the kiln technique was 7.75. The results of SEM analysis show that biochar with the kiln technique has a more porous surface structure and is better than the retort technique. The results of EDX analysis obtained nutrients in the retort technique, namely 75.39% C, 21.19% O and 3.42% Cu while biochar nutrients with the kiln method consisted of 68.77% C, 11.81% O, 1.77% Cu, 9% K and 8.66% Zn. The results of the BET analysis show that the retort technique has a smaller surface area of 0.285 m²/g while the kiln method is 34.440 m²/g. The pore volume consisting of BJH adsorption and desorption in the retort technique has a smaller value, each has a value of 0.045 cc / g and 0.036 cc / g while in the kiln technique each has a value of 0.071 cc / g and 0.059 cc / g. The pore size of biochar with the retort method is larger at 24.921 Å or 2.4921 nm (meso pore) while the kiln method has a pore size of 19.366 Å or 1.9366 nm (micro pore). The results of FTIR analysis show that biochar with the retort technique has 19 wave peaks and 11 functional groups while the kiln technique has 9 wave peaks and 7 functional groups.56 PagesSkripsi Sarjan

    This study aimed to determine the effect of application biochar organic fertilizer in the form of pellets, a combination of empty bunches of oil palm biochar, azolla and chicken manure to reduce the use of chemical fertilizer on the growth of maize plants (Zea mays L.) and chemical properties on ultisol soil. This research was conducted at the Greenhouse, Research and Technology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra and the Socfin Indonesia Analytical Laboratory (SOCFINDO) from February 2023 to August 2023. This study used a Non-Factorial Randomized Block Design with 7 treatments and 3 replications. Treatment factors included: POB 0 (control without POB, full dose of chemical fertilizer), POB 1 (50 g POB, ½ CF dose), POB 2 (100 g POB, ½ CF dose), POB 3 (150 g POB, ¼ CF dose ), POB 4 (200 g, ¼ CF dose), POB 5 (250 g POB, without CF), POB 6 (300 g POB, without CF). Parameters observed were soil pH, organic C, available P, total N, plant height, shoot dry weight, N content, P content, N and P absorption. The research result showed that the application of biochar organic fertilizer at different doses had an effect significantly on soil pH, organic C, available P, shoot dry weight, N content, N and P absorption of corn plants in Ultisol soil except on total N and P levels. The application of biochar organic fertilizer at a dose of 200 g and ¼ of N,P,K dose was better than other biochar organic fertilizer doses in increasing soil-total N, plant height, shoot dry weight, N content, N and P absorption of corn plants on Ultisol soil.87 HalamanSkripsi Sarjan

    Microanalysis of Structural and Functional Groups on Biochar and Compost of Cow Manure

    Cow dung waste is a material produced by cow digestion. In this case, livestock waste has the potential to be processed into compost and biochar. This difference in manufacturing methods will affect the resulting characteristics. The quality of compost and biochar can be identified through the Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Enerfy Dispersive X-ray (EDX), Brunauer Emmet Teller (BET), and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR). Making biochar in the retort method is carried out at a temperature of 2250 C for 4 hours. Composting is carried out by anaerobic techniques for 3 weeks. This study aims to see the microstructural characteristics contained in compost and cow dung biochar and their functional groups. This analysis was carried out at the Soil Biology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra and at the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN). The results showed differences in characteristics between cow dung compost and cow dung biochar retort method. The results of the pH analysis showed that cow dung compost had a pH of 7.03 and cow dung biochar retort method had a pH of 9.08. The results of the Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) analysis show that the two have different morphological forms. The results of Energy Dispersive X-ray (EDX) analysis show that the most types of nutrients are found in biochar. The results of Brunauer Emmet Teller (BET) analysis show that biochar has a surface area 3 times larger at 28,620m2 / g compared to compost which is 8,458 m2 / g, but compost has a larger pore size of 24,811 (Å) compared to biochar which is 15,293 (Å). The results of the Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) analysis show that cow dung compost has 17 wave peaks with 11 functional groups and biochar has 8 wave peaks with 6 functional groups.60 PagesSkripsi Sarjan

    Analysis of Buffer Capacity Compost and Biochar Derived from Cattle Manure

    This study aims to determine the acidity level, buffer capacity, and functional groups present in compost and biochar derived from cattle manure. The research was conducted at the Soil Chemistry and Biology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sumatera Utara, and at BRIN (National Research and Innovation Agency) in Serpong, South Tangerang, from September 2024 to March 2025. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with a non-factorial approach, considering the type of biomass material as the treatment factor, with four replications. The treatment factors included (Bo) pure water, (Bb) cattle manure biochar, and (Bk) cattle manure compost. The observed parameters were pH, pH buffer capacity. The results showed that the application of cattle manure biochar and compost significantly affected the pH buffer capacity. The analysis of pH and buffer capacity showed that cow manure biochar has a better buffering capacity compared to cow manure compost.51 PagesSkripsi Sarjan
