Immunotherapy for hepatocellular carcinoma: A review of potential new drugs based on ongoing clinical studies as of 2019
In the latest years, antineoplastic immunotherapy revolutionised the therapeutic landscape in oncology. First shown to be effective in melanoma and non-small cell lung carcinoma, immune checkpoint inhibitors are now being tested for the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). Preliminary results have been particularly promising. As a consequence, an increasing number of clinical trials are underway. The role of the immune system in carcinogenesis (with particular reference to tumour escape immune mechanisms), as well as the current immunotherapy trials for HCC in its different clinical scenarios, are the subject of this review. In particular, we aim to provide fresh updates about these novel therapeutic agents which promise to shape the future therapeutic scenario of HCC
Tail-dependence clustering of time series with spatial constraints
We introduce a clustering method for time series based on tail dependence. Such a method also considers spatial constraints by means of a suitable procedure merging temporal and spatial dependence via extreme-value copulas. The cluster composition depends on the choice of the hyper-parameter used to calibrate the contribution of the spatial dependence to the overall dissimilarity. A novel heuristic approach to select based on a suitable connectedness index associated to each cluster of the partition is proposed
Local Site Effects in the Town of Benevento (Italy) from Noise Measurements
The study of ground motion amplification produced by surface geology is extremely
interesting in the Benevento area, Southern Italy, as it is characterized by high seismic hazard. The present
moderate-to-low seismicity makes the noise method appropriate to estimate the seismic site response in the
area. The three components of seismic noise have been recorded in five sites in the Benevento metropolitan
area characterized by different surface geology, in order to estimate the seismic site response. In evaluating
site amplification effects we used the direct interpretation of amplitude spectra and standard spectral ratio
techniques, evaluating sediment-to-bedrock, sediment-to-average and H/V spectral ratios. The temporal
evolution of the noise spectra is analysed within one day, in order to assess the stationarity of the noise
signal. The noise wavefield properties have been studied through polarization analyses in selected bands of
frequency, where spectral peaks are observed to dominate, to better understand the real nature of those
peaks. Results give evidence of low amplification levels, missing any correlation between spectral
amplitudes and sediment thickness over the basement. We interpret this result as due to the poor
impedance contrast between sediments and basement, which is characterized by low values of shear waves
velocity. Moreover, sharp amplitude peaks are observed in the raw spectra of the sediment-sites, in the 2–4
Hz frequency band; a numerical simulation interprets this effect as possibly associated with a wide-scale
structure, invoking the presence of a sharper impedance contrast at greater depth. At high frequencies the
action of ambient noise sources, mainly active on horizontal components of motion, is retained dominant
to generate the prominent peaks observed in the H/V spectral ratios; in some cases the presence of a nearsurface
low-velocity layer can contribute to amplify the seismic motion generated at these frequencies.Published1745-17644.1. Metodologie sismologiche per l'ingegneria sismicaJCR Journalreserve

Benevento.
Flood hazard of major river segments, Benevento Province, Southern Italy
On 15 October 2015, a storm-induced flood hit the central sector of Benevento Province (southern Italy) causing two deaths and severe damage to infrastructure, buildings and local agriculture. This area has a long history of similar events and since 1924 its major river segments have been monitored with several hydrometric stations. We used data from two of these stations and a LiDAR derived high-resolution topography to develop a flood hazard map. For map computation, we first derived a flood inundation map from topography. Subsequently we estimated the probability of exceedance of each specific fluvial stage from the combination of a Generalized Extreme Value and a Gamma fits of available hydrometric data. As boundary condition, we considered a reference scenario corresponding to an estimated 500 year flood. The hazard maps provide an overview of the flood hazard in the central sector of Benevento Province and floodplains zonation in flood perspective.</p
Structurally controlled earth flows of the Benevento province (Southern Italy)
The paper reports an investigation into the distribution and type of landslides in the Benevento province in southern Italy, between 2001 and 2008. Field mapping was undertaken at various scales up to 1:10,000 depending on the features identified. Landslide types were recognized within 5-group lithotechnical sequences cropping out in the province, grouped according to their similar mechanical and lithological features. The analysis showed a widespread diffusion of Earth Flows, with reactivation linked to both rainfall and seismic events. They are structurally controlled related to bedding, stratigraphic/tectonic contact between more and less competent sequences and a high degree of tectonisation. © 2010 Springer-Verlag

Archaeometric characterization of common wares from Ancient Appia Landscapes Survey (Benevento - Italy): new elements to reconstruct a Late Roman micro-regional ceramic production.
The Ancient Appia Landscapes project (AAL) has been operating since 2011 in partnership with the Superintendence for Archaeological Heritage of Salerno, Avellino, Benevento and Caserta. The main idea of the research was the topographic reconstruction of the Via Appia Antica along the stretch between Beneventum and the so-called Appian Bridge on the Calore River, the final goal being the reconstitution of the ancient landscape in this area strongly characterised by Via Appia, in a holist approach to environmental events, population dynamics, settlement patterns and economic activities.
The areas concerned with the hypothetical route have been detected using intensive survey techniques and, in some cases, also thematic surveys in sites of specific interest.
There is no doubt that one of the most important and complex parts of the research survey is the quantification and classification of ceramic finds.
In this study of all the ceramic assemblages of the AAL Surveys and the completion of archaeometric analyses will provide more information towards understanding the production, distribution and consumption patterns of late antique ceramics in the south-east area of Benevento. For now, the pottery analysis of UT 0466 clearly shows that local productions adopted the morphological repertoire that circulated in Naples and Campania in the 5th-6th century, using similar manufacturing techniques, intentionally associated with particular forms of a different cultural tradition.
Twenty-four samples from thousands of fragments were selected for archeometric analyses. The procedures applied were: macroscopic analyses, to describe the ceramic paste following the scheme proposed by Williams (1990); optical microscopy observations of thin sections using a Nikon Eclipse 6400 POL microscope with polarised light (20x, 40x, 100x, 200x magnification), to define the main petrographic groups and describe mineralogical and textural features of the pastes according to the terminology suggested by Maggetti (1991); and X-ray powder diffraction analyses, to identify the micro- and crypto-mineralogical phases and determine the firing temperature of the samples
