Strong Convergence of an Iterative Method for Equilibrium Problems and Variational Inequality Problems
We introduce an iterative method for finding a common element of the set of solutions of equilibrium problems, the set of solutions of variational inequality problems, and the set of fixed points of finite many nonexpansive mappings. We prove strong convergence of the iterative sequence generated by the proposed iterative algorithm to the unique solution of a variational inequality, which is the optimality condition for the minimization problem.</p
Qualidade de vida de pacientes submetidos à cirurgia bariátrica: estudo transversal
Purpose: Analyze factors that influenced the quality of life (QoL) of patients after bariatric surgery. Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out, involving 307 adult bariatric surgery patients between 2012 and 2014. Data was obtained from the electronic patient records and telephone interviews. To assess the QoL, the World Health Organization Quality of Life-Bref (WHOQOL-bref) was used. A simple linear regression model was constructed, adjusted by sociodemographic variables, with p<0.05. Results: The domains with the worst scores were the physical (mean=58.45; SD±10.42) and environmental (mean=65.19; SD±11.36). The best domains were the social (mean=76.51; SD±15.71) and psychological (mean=68.70; SD±15.71). In the linear regression model, it was observed that time since the surgery was inversely associated with the physical health domain. For each month post-bariatric surgery, the patient’s average score dropped by 2.66 points, adjusted by sex and age. Conclusions: Time since the surgery could be an important determinant of the physical domain score of quality of life. Identifying the quality of life after bariatric surgery and influential factors is fundamental to prepare these patients for the changes deriving from the weight loss. Para avaliar a QV, foi utilizada a World Health Organization Quality of Life-bref (WHOQOL-bref).
Remagnetization mechanisms in Triassic red beds from South China
Paleogeographic reconstructions based on paleomagnetic data rely on the reliability of the natural remanent magnetization (NRM) as a primary geomagnetic signal. Remagnetizations, however, can be common in many rock types, including late Paleozoic and Mesozoic red beds, and they complicate paleogeographic interpretations. Extracting the primary NRM from partially remagnetized rocks, and understanding the remagnetization mechanism are important in these contexts. We carried out a systematic paleomagnetic study of red bed samples from the Triassic Huangmaqing Formation, Nanjing (32.0°N, 118.9°E), South China. Two NRM components carried by secondary and primary hematite are isolated in 47 of the 94 samples studied, where the latter component has a direction in stratigraphic coordinates of D=29.2°, I=34.6° (α95=10.9°, 47 samples from 6 sites) that yields a paleopole of λ=60.8°N, ϕ=228.1°E, dp/dm=12.5/7.2, which is consistent with Triassic pole positions for the South China Block. A secondary chemical remanent magnetization (CRM) (D=227.1°, I=80.8°, α95=7.3°) is documented in all 94 samples from 10 sites and is carried by pigmentary hematite that is inferred to have been generated by magnetite oxidation during orogenic activity. This secondary component has steep inclinations and is interpreted to have been influenced by a combination of the remanence carried by original parent magnetite, the orogenic stress field, and the prevailing geomagnetic field direction during deformation. This CRM direction is recorded commonly by red beds from the South China Block, and is significant for regional tectonic studies in the area

Peptidomimetic design of unusual turns by incorporating flexible and rigid omega-amino acids simultaneously
The tripeptides Boc-Gly-Aib-m-ABA-OMe (I), Boc-beta Ala-Aib-m-ABA-OMe (II) and Boc-gamma Abu-Aib-rn-ABA-OMe (III) (Aib: alpha-aminoisobutyric acid, beta Ala: beta-alanine, gamma Abu: gamma-aminobutyric acid, m-ABA: meta-aminobenzoic acid) with homologated amino acids at the N-terminus, the rigid gamma-amino acid m-ABA at the C-terminus and the helicogenic Aib at the central position have been chosen to create unusual turns. Single crystal X-ray diffraction studies, solvent dependent NMR titrations and 2D NMR analysis reveal that peptides II and III adopt unusual turns of 11- and 12-membered rings stabilized by modified 4 -> 1 type intramolecular hydrogen bonds. Solution phase studies indicate that peptide I exists in the beta-turn conformation stabilized by 10-membered intramolecular hydrogen bonding

Self-concept is one of the key aspects of personality development. It is relevant because it affects how a person sees him/herself and how he/she relates to others. During adolescence, self-perception tends to be highly variable due to the inherent changes of this stage, being a critical period in which to foster a healthy and confident personality. Add to this the critical circumstances experienced during the pandemic and it becomes a bombshell. Physical education classes, can promote the self-concept and improve school health. The aim of the
study was to analyse self-concept in Spanish adolescents of physical education by sex, school location, age, educational level and body mass index (BMI) after the pandemic. A crosssectional study of 961 students’ physical education classes in public schools in Extremadura (Spain) was obtained and administered the Self-Concept Questionnaire version 5 (AF-5). The results showed that there is an association between AF-5 and sex, where adolescent girls have lower self-concept; there is a slight inverse relationship between AF-5 with age and BMI and there is no significant association between AF-5 and school location. In conclusion, knowing the relevant factors of self-concept after covid allows the educational community to implement tools for the optimal development of self-concept in Physical Education students, thus performance of adolescents.
