Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

No full textOvaj pregledni rad bavi se temom utjecaja roditelja s narcističkim poremećajem ličnosti na razvoj djeteta, a cilj je rada prikazati kompleksnost i ozbiljnost utjecaja narcističkog poremećaja ličnosti u sferi roditeljstva te nedovoljnu zastupljenost teme kako u istraživanjima tako i u informiranosti opće populacije, ali i stručnjaka. Kroz rad se pojašnjava sam pojam narcizma i opisuje se kako on prelazi u narcistički poremećaj ličnosti te što u tom trenu podrazumijeva. Ovim se radom zatim narcistički poremećaj ličnosti povezuje sa roditeljstvom i načinom na koji sam poremećaj oblikuje tu dimenziju te se opisuju karakteristike narcističkih roditelja. Narcistički poremećaj ličnosti roditelja stavljen je u kontekst rizičnog čimbenika za razvoj djeteta zbog utjecaja na njegovo mentalno zdravlje i posljedica uslijed pretrpljene traume te su ponuđene mogućnosti tretmana i intervencija roditelja i djeteta. Utjecaj roditelja s narcističkim poremećajem ličnosti na razvoj djeteta itekako je postojan i multidimenzionalan te može rezultirati dugotrajnim posljedicama na ličnost djeteta i njegovu percepciju okoline; stoga je nužno osvijestiti karakteristike i pokazatelje narcističkog zlostavljanja djeteta.This preview paper tackles the topic of the influence that parents with narcissistic personality disorder have on child development with the goal of the paper being the showing of complexity and seriousness of narcissistic personality disorder's impact in the sphere of parenting as well as inadequate representation of the topic in both research and general population including the experts. This paper reveals the very concept of narcissism and describes how it turns into a narcissistic personality disorder and what it entails at that moment. This work then connects narcissistic personality disorder with parenting and the way it shapes that dimension while describing the characteristics of narcissistic parents. Narcissistic personality disorder is put in the context of a risk factor for the child's development because of it's impact on their metal health and also the consequences due to the trauma suffered, as well as the paper offers the possibilities of treatment and intervention, both for the child and the parent. The influence of parents with narcissistic personality disorder on the child's development is persistent and multidimensional and can result in long-term consequences for the child's personality and his perception of the environment; therefore, it is necessary to be aware of the characteristics and indicators of narcissistic child abuse
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Elements of eco-social policies in the National Recovery and Resilience Plan 2021-2026
No full textOvaj se diplomski rad bavi konceptom eko-socijalnih politika, onime što one jesu, onime što se njima želi postići i njihovom ulogom u kontekstu nacionalnih politika. Same su eko-socijalne politike podtip socijalnih politika s ciljem pomirenja, a ne izolacije ekoloških i socijalnih ciljeva; bave se integriranim pristupom ekološkom i društvenom području. Kroz ovaj se rad postavlja i pitanje takozvanih eko-socijalnih nejednakosti koje su rezultat isprepletene prirode socijalnih i ekoloških izazova modernog doba, a odnose se na sjedinjene ekonomske, političke, socijalne i ekološke dimenzije nejednakosti i nepravdi kako na globalnoj tako i na nacionalnoj te lokalnoj razini. Ovim se diplomskim radom istražuje i razina prisutnosti eko-socijalnih politika u hrvatskom javnopolitičkom kontekstu kroz analizu Nacionalnog plana otpornosti i oporavka 2021.-2026. (NPOO). Analizirajući elemente samog NPOO-a i uspoređujući ih s elementima eko-socijalnih politika, konačni je cilj provedene analize bio otkriti stvarnu zastupljenost potonjih te ukazati na potencijal i priliku za njihovo usvajanje. Zaključci ukazuju na to kako u NPOO-u nema izričitih eko-socijalnih instrumenata, no postoji određen broj reformi koje zadovoljavaju kriterije ključnih elemenata eko-socijalnih politika. Međutim, ova se analiza može uzeti kao pokazatelj mogućnosti koje za Hrvatsku politiku predstavlja eko-socijalni kontekst; kako u planovima i strategijama tako i u implementaciji politika. Za sada je moguće reći kako su eko-socijalne politike obećavajući alat u prilagodbi i prevenciji klimatske krize i njenog utjecaja na društvo. Iako su relativno nov i ne sasvim razrađen koncept, eko-socijalne politike nose određen potencijal koji je nužno iskoristiti kako bi se moglo rješavati probleme i nejednakosti uzrokovane od strane eko-socijalnih rizika.This thesis explores the concept of eco-social policies, defining what they are, what can be achieved through them, and their role within the national policy frameworks. Eco-social policies themselves are a subtype of social policies aimed at reconciling, rather than isolating, environmental and social goals; they promote an integrated approach to the environmental and social areas. This thesis also raises the issue of so-called eco-social inequalities which arise from the intertwined nature of social and environmental challenges of the modern era, and relate to the combined economic, political, social and environmental dimensions of inequality and injustice both at the global and local levels. This thesis also analyses the extent to which eco-social policies are present in Croatian national context through an analysis of the Croatia's National Resilience and Recovery Plan (NRRP). By analysing the elements of the NRRP itself and comparing them with the elements of eco-social policies, the ultimate goal of the analysis was to reveal the actual representation of the latter and point to the potential and opportunity for their further adoption. The findings indicate that there are no explicit eco-social instruments in the NRRP, but there is a certain number of reforms that meet the criteria of key elements of eco-social policies. However, these results can be taken as an indicator of the possibilities that the eco-social context represents for Croatian policymaking; both in plans and strategies and in the implementation of policies. For now, it can be said that eco-social policies are a promising tool in the adaptation and prevention of the climate crisis and its impact on society. Although they are a relatively new and not fully developed concept, eco-social policies carry a certain potential that could be used in addressing challenges and inequalities caused by eco-social risks

Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
Get PDFWe conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
