Digital HRM and Electronic HRM: which relation? A conceptual clarification with insights into sustainability through the PRISMA protocol

    No full text
The phenomenon of digitalization started a long time ago and in a short time it has entered companies by evolving their areas, including the HRM. Nowadays, there is more and more talk of the twin transition, i.e. how to become more digital and sustainable. Nevertheless, literature on the topic is in its infancy and suffers from some gaps. This article therefore aims to fill them by providing a systematization of the literature on HRM digitalization, identifying the relationship between d-HRM and e-HRM, and highlighting how this literature addresses the issue of corporate sustainability. Following the PRISMA protocol, a systematic literature review supported by some bibliometric analyses was developed to answer the research questions fully and exhaustively. This article aims to offer an interpretative framework to organizations and practitioners to better manage the digital transition and its links with sustainability. Some suggestions for future research are also provided

Resenha do livro intitulado "Antes que os vagalumes desapareçam ou influência da iluminação artificial sobre o ambiente", autoria de Alessandro Barghini, publicado em 2010 pela Editora Annablume e FAPESP.Universidade de Brasília. Brasília, DF, Brasil / Universidade Estadual Vale do Acaraú. Sobral, CE, Brasil. While peoples are challenged regarding the role they play in destroying the planet, a very relevant aspect has deserved little attention in the discussions, be it in scientific environments, be it in public policies debates: the impact of artificial lighting on the environment and on public health. The book by Professor Barghini partly fills this gap. The purpose of the author is to make clear the attraction by insects for night lights and its consequences for public health in the attraction of disease carriers. Through a wide theoretical and methodological repertoire developed along the chapters, the author tracks evidence about the role played by light in the transmission of disease, such as Chagas disease and malaria. Light performs this role through two distinct mechanisms: attracting vectors to an anthropic influence region and, another one subtler, changing the circadian cycle of certain species, increasing the foraging period and facilitating the haematophiliac relations with man and the likelihood of infections

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods
