No full textEste libro reconstruye, a lo largo de sus capitulos, la historia de veinticinco PyME industriales pertenecientes a diversos sectores de la actividad manufacturera, localizadas en distintas provincias del país (Buenos Aires, Rio Negro, Mendoza, San Juan, La Rioja, Córdoba, Santa Fe, Chaco, Misiones y Formosa, además de la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires).
En sus páginas pueden apreciarse los rasgos particulares de cada una de las firmas, pero también un denominador común: la capacidad que han tenido los empresarios a cargo de cada una de ellas de hacer frente a los desafíos y de resistir, adaptarse y responder a la volatilidad macroeconómica y a la inestabilidad institucional que han caracterizado a la Argentina a lo largo de las últimas décadas.
Desde el punto de vista académico este volumen representa un aporte significativo a la historia de empresas, disciplina que ha experimentado un fuerte dinamismo en la Argentina de los últimos años, y en la cual los estudios sobre pequeñas y medianas empresas recién comienzan a despuntar. Constituye también una contribución relevante al estudio de las economías de aglomeración. El análisis de la trayectoria de la veinticinco empresas, que se encuentran ubicadas dentro de áreas geográficas especializadas desde el punto de vista sectorial, permite reflexionar acerca de las muy diversas realidades territoriales argentinas y de cómo operan, en cada una de ellas, las redes que vinculan a las firmas entre sí y con las comunidades y las organizaciones públicas y privadas de las áreas en las cuales despliegan su actividad
Corporate Networks and Business Groups in Argentina in the Early 1970s
No full textThis article examines the interlocking directorates' structure of prominent Argentine business groups at the end of the import substitution period (1970–72), identifying corporate relations among and between business groups and the largest companies, during a period characterised by high institutional and macroeconomic instability. Applying social network analysis, it seeks to clarify how business groups can contribute to the cohesion of a corporate network structure, through their ability to create links among firms not only within their boundaries but also external to them. No full textEste ensayo presenta un breve balance sobre la trayectoria y la agenda pendiente de la historia empresarial en América Latina. Se propone un recorrido por sus principales características y por los desafíos y las disparidades regionales de su desarrollo. Asimismo, interpela al estado actual de la historia empresarial en América Latina en relación con los más recientes debates internacionales sobre el perfil de la disciplina y con una serie de posibles alternativas de desarrollo para evitar un posible estancamiento y alcanzar una mayor consolidación e institucionalización académica. Al finalizar propone una serie de temas de investigación, a modo de agenda, y aboga por fortalecer a la historia de empresas como un ámbito de colaboración interdisciplinario y de promoción de investigaciones comparadas y de largo plazo.This essay contains a brief summary of the business history’s historiography of Latin America, as well as the challenges for future research agenda. It analyses the main characteristics and regional imbalances in the historiography. It also compares the state of the discipline in Latin America in relation to the most recent world developments, while it also proposes some alternatives to avoid the stagnation of the field in our region and to reach a better consolidation and academic institutionalization of the discipline. The article ends with a proposition of topics for future research agenda, and it advocates for the promotion of interdisciplinary collaboration, as well as comparative research in the long term.Fil: Lluch, Andrea Mari. No full textEl artículo analiza la trayectoria de la Compañía Ítalo-Argentina de Electricidad desde su creación en 1912 hasta 1950, momento en el cual se produjeron cambios estructurales en la modalidad de gestión y en la propiedad de los sistemas eléctricos tanto a nivel global como en la Argentina. Evaluamos los orígenes de la compañía, la conformación del grupo inversor y el estilo de financiamiento, así como su trayectoria tecnológica en relación con las condiciones institucionales que incidieron en el sector eléctrico. El trabajo se basa en el análisis de archivos y publicaciones de las empresas eléctricas y compañías holding (Archivo Histórico Pirelli, Memorias y balances de CIAE, Memorias y balances de CHADE, Memorias y Balances de CATE, Memorias y Balances de la SSAE), informes y publicaciones de gobierno (Antecedentes de las concesiones, Informes de las comisiones investigadoras, Documentación y legajos sobre electricidad en el Archivo General de la Nación) y publicaciones periódicas (Boletín de la Bolsa de Comercio, Monitor de Sociedades Anónimas, The Argentine Year’s Book).The article analyzes the evolution of the Compañía Italo-Argentina de Electricidad from 1912 to 1950, when the ownership and the styles of management globally changed. We examine the origins of the company, the investment group and the financing style, as well as its technological trajectory in relation to the institutional conditions that impacted to the electricity sector. The classification plays an important role in the National Library as well as the entire library information network. It is central to the subject authority file of the National Library of the Czech Republic (NL CR) and its bibliographic services. The author explains the importance and potential of UDC use online especially in a multilingual context and illustrates this with examples from the national union catalogue, the Czech Uniform Information Gateway (UIG), the Multilingual Subject Access to Library Catalogues (MSAC) system and the Multilingual Content Aggregation System (M-CAST) projects. The advantages of using UDC in improving precision and recall are explained using the M-CASt system
Video Game, Author and Lemming: The Knowledge-Building Process
No full textMany studies show that video games require attentive and interpretive capacity to generate complex cognitive skills in the gamer and they can be transferred to other contexts, such as school. In this paper, the authors do not aim to investigate the contents of the player’s thinking, but rather his/her way of thinking. In this scenario the teacher becomes a worlds’ maker, who provides his/her students with the tools allowing them to partake in the co-building of multi-tiered worlds, which requires not only the ability to get access to intangible information but also a skillful management of media interfaces. In this way, the click of the mouse becomes the action par excellence that allows each individual to contribute synergistically to the realization of the digital habitats. The ultimate goal is to search, in the learning processes activated by the video games in both the authors and the lemming, those features that make the learner a self-knowledge builder. Such “socio-cultural grammar” influences the writing and interpretation of messages, turning every individual into an author, who’s often unaware of the “scriptwriting culture” that inhabits all the possible media worlds
