No full textNational audienceLongtemps perçus comme des lieux privilégiés producteurs de liens sociaux conviviaux, les espaces ruraux sont à présent touchés par des processus de fragmentation sociale tout en restant largement attractifs aux yeux de leurs nombreux visiteurs. Quelles sociabilités produisent ces dynamiques et quelles catégories sociales concernent-elles ? A partir d’enquêtes réalisées en Dordogne, département exemplaire du réinvestissement actuel des campagnes, les logiques de cohabitation à l’½oeuvre seront analysées au prisme de diverses situations : relations de voisinage, marchés, accueil à la ferme… Vincent Banos et Jacqueline Candau montreront que l’emprise des qualifications patrimoniale et écologique de ces espaces rend invisibles les catégories sociales les plus modestes et repose notamment sur la valorisation de l’autochtonie. Cette dernière, observée au cours des échanges entre les usagers du rural périgourdin, est définie comme une production sociale fabriquée entre « autochtones » et « allochtones » qui engage des valeurs structurelles de notre société. Elle est aussi génératrice de ressources disputées et inégalement réparties

No full textPortrait of author and minister Norman Vincent Peale, ca. 1984. Peale was born on May 31, 1898, in Bowersville, Ohio. He graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University and became one of the most influential ministers of the twentieth century, known for his dynamic and energetic sermons. He preached an optimistic message that many Americans accepted during such trying events as the Great Depression, World War II, the Cold War, and the Civil Rights Movement. His sermons were broadcast on the radio and shown on television all across the United States. Peale also published forty-six books, his most popular being "The Power of Positive Thinking.
