J.C. Baker letter, Tennessee?, 1862 November 12
Letter from J.C. Baker to his wife Lou, care of James Hannah at C.J. Seldon & Co., in Memphis, Tennessee, dated November 12, 1862. Baker was a civilian, possibly living in eastern Tennessee, who was a merchant before the war. His wife and their children were in Memphis but it is unclear whether this was their permanent home. In his letter, Baker notes he is connected with the CSA Quartermaster’s Department. He is critical of General Sherman’s retribution against civilian Confederate sympathizers in the Memphis area. He also notes the high prices of goods in his area.https://digitalcommons.memphis.edu/speccoll-mss-civilwar1/1016/thumbnail.jp
Expanded-beam connector design study
A theoretical analysis of an expanded-beam connector is presented, and it is shown that considerable scope exists for optimization of the design. A ray-tracing technique is used to quantify the importance of various parameters in determining the insertion loss. The design guidelines are presented in graphical form, and their usefulness is demonstrated in several examples of practical interest

Product Innovation Knowledge Transfer for Developing Countries: Towards a systematic Transfer Approach
The transfer of knowledge on product innovation to small- and medium-sized enterprises and local knowledge institutions in developing countries is expected to be one of the key drivers for competiveness and economical growth, and a part of the solution to environmental and social challenge. In that respect, this PhD study focuses on how the process of the current knowledge transfer takes place and how it can be improved. A combination of literature review and empirical research has resulted into a conceptual framework to describe the complex and dynamic process of product innovation knowledge transfer to developing countries. In order to improve this process, a systematic approach has been developed and operationalized by a needs assessment tool and a design manual: The UNEP Design for Sustainability for Developing Economies (D4S-DE) Manual (www.d4s-de.org). Both tools have been tested in practice by practitioners and have been evaluated by an academic review board.Design EngineeringIndustrial Design Engineerin

Where do we draw lines: professional relationship boundaries and the child and youth care practitioner
The question of professional relationship boundaries is a poignant one, in light of the many boundary grey-zones that are created by the variety of young people’s needs, practice settings and professional relationship contexts within the field of child and youth care. In order to support practitioners’ development of critical thought and awareness of professional boundaries, this paper applies a professional relationship boundaries conceptual framework to child and youth care work, and the literature is consulted to explore the impacts of boundary violations, influences on individual’s boundaries, cues to indicate blurring boundaries, and key strategies to maintain balanced boundaries

Best of Broadway is a student club that presents high-quality musicals. The shows are run by Springfield College students and presented for the entire Springfield College community and the public. The program grew into a more professional theatre organization when the Fuller Arts Center was constructed and opened in May 1984. Art Linkletter hosted the dedication performance for the Fuller Arts Center, where Best of Broadway performed “Summer Nights” and “We Go Together” from “Grease.” Other groups who performed at the ceremony were the SC Dance Troupes, SC Singers, the Stage Band, and the American Theatre Academy.
The idea first came about in 1973 when undergraduate Dennis St. Jean and his friends, who produced and directed Springfield’s first “Best of Broadway” in Moses Hall, collected a handful of money and proposed an offer to the college’s president. They wrote, “Dr. Mr. President: We know you are busy building other things like the Babson Library now, but one day we hope you’ll build us a little theatre. Without exerting any pressure, we want you to have this collection as a down payment on that building. Please save it for that and, when you can build one, use our dollars.” The fund grew to $10,000 by the late 70s. In 1978 these student’s dreams became a reality as a Theatre Task Force was appointed and its building was incorporated into the Capital Campaign.Photographic print has experienced some mold damage, causing discoloration around the edges of the photograph.; Written on post-it note "Best of Broadway II 1974 - Eliott Baker - King Herod J.C.
