Global crisis and mikrocyclicity
The present paperwork presents a novel perspective of a fundamental concept like business cyclicity. Throughout the argued aspects we try to emphasize the unitary aspect of microcyclicity in business both at a micro and macro level. On the background of global crisis, the authors discuss about a “chaotic” type of business environment, characterized by a permanent turbulence which needs a totally different style of management; within a „urbulent economy” the manager needs intuition and various strategies in order to survive as Kotler and Caslione say. The discussion develops step by step on several plans and grants the perspectives of several scientists as Samuelson, Kondratieff or Drucker. The bottom line is to present and describe the variations of cyclicity itself
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
THE IMPACT OF THE BUSINESS ENVIRONMENT ON THE SHAPING OF AN ORGANIZATION CHART
Since Adam Smith , FW Taylor, H. Fayol and recently , whether we are referring to Peter Drucker, Harrington & Harrington, and other authors consecrated in the literature of management / economics, the organization issues in an organization have grown much in complexity. The manner in which the firm / company constitutes the organization chart induces subsequently, explicitly or not, multiple conditionings in the daily practice of the organization (both in the sense that it may favour certain efforts / strategies or on the contrary it may block such efforts. The size of the company, the market and the technology are the most popular factors that will influence an organization chart.. However, in the context of global crisis and chaotic business environment, new questions arise regarding the model of organization charts and associated management strategies. What are the predictable directions regarding the type of organization chart in the current business environment? How does social competition influence the shape of organization charts in different countries?
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Including intangible assets in rates to estimate the risk of bankruptcy
The purpose of this paper is to show that an economic entity’s intangible assets play an important role in predicting the risk of bankruptcy of the company and at the same time in its evolution. Based on benchmarking and on appeal to the experience and intuition of available human expert it can be shaped a credible model and, based on this model can be projected the future course of a business organization. Among other issues, we note that the intangible assets of a company can and should be entered into the equation for estimating the risk of bankruptcy whether it avails or not to artificial intelligence (AI) techniques to solve this problem (values lead to bankruptcy and the graphics functions differ majorly when the analysis includes the Rhine rate which takes into account intangibles of firms). From the structure of the paper we can see that whatever the type of model used in predicting the risk of bankruptcy at either classic or using artificial intelligence techniques (AI) a leading role in the evolution and the value of the company represents intangible
AMBIDEXTERITY OF BUSINESS ORGANIZATIONS FOR CONTINUOUS LEARNING AND INNOVATION
The ambidexterity of business organizations is their ability to balance and integrate exploration and exploitation processes for innovation and lifelong learning. This duality is essential for firms\u27 long-term survival, allowing them to compete in both mature markets and new technology areas where flexibility and autonomy are crucial. In this article we have illustrated a model of exploration (generation of explicit knowledge) and exploitation (application of tacit knowledge) for the continuous innovation of business organizations. There are, of course, in business organizations, many other elements that can be dealt with through organizational ambidexterity for implementing strategies and generating innovations. The current study refers to the ability of companies, through their decision-makers, to generate new knowledge (tacit/explicit conversion) and transform them into innovations exposed on the market.
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
The Evolution of International Electronic Business
The pace of development of e-commerce is now more significant than that of world trade as a whole, reflected in the work of the World Trade Organization. Reduced costs compared to traditional stores contribute to the opening of new companies. One of the main trends of this year were the changes that have occurred in the work of the great giants of the Internet. For the sake of possible growth, the largest companies are expanding towards 'real markets', for example, Amazon in the US and Singapore, Zalora. At the same time, a number of providers are expanding their online offers, such as Walmart, Nordstorm. The aim of this study is to present an overall analysis of the evolution of international e-business, to identify the problems that hinder their development and to present smart solutions that could be successfully applied by real-life entrepreneurs
KNOWLEDGE AS A DISTINCTIVE RESOURCE OF COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE
The paper focuses on identifying factors that allow companies to gain competitive advantage in global competition, based on the sources of competitive advantage of nations. In the knowledge-based society, knowledge becomes a distinctive resource for any company that innovate in order to develop/strengthen some distinctive core-competencies against its competitors. However, there is a considerable amount of literature which unsatisfactory explains/clarifies the mechanism for processing various types of knowledge (explicit and tacit) and for innovating in order to maintain a certain competitive advantage in different markets
