Metodo per la determinazione degli acidi liberi in piccoli campioni. Applicazione nell'olio estratto dalla drupa di olivo
Determination of diglycerides in virgin olive oils, salami and cheese by solid phase extraction
The capillary column coated with a polar stationary phase stable at high temperature was applied to separate dyglicerides on the basis of their molecular weight, tha unsaturation degree of fatty acids and their position on the glyserol molecule. The solid phasa extraction (SPE) with cartridges of amino phase were used to achieve the separation of lipids into polar and no polar fraction, before GLC analyses. This method was applied to virgin olive oil, salami and cheese samples from which the repeatability was assessed;the recovery was determined in olive oil and salami fat samples
Determination of biogenic amines in alcoholic and non alcoholic beers by HPLC
Eight biogenic amines (histamine, tyramine, tryptamine, 2-phenyl-ethylamine, putrescine, cadaverine, spermine and spermidine) in alcoholic and non-alcoholic beers have been determined by HPLC. The results obtained ranged between 0.1 and 17.2 ppm. Only six amines were found because histamine and spermine were not present in detectable amounts. Spermidine was detected in all samples (0.3-1.4 ppm) despite absence of references in the literature about the content of this amine in beers. Non-alcoholic beers did not have significantly lower amounts of biogenic amines than alcoholic beers
La risposta glicemica tra presente e futuro - Strategie del settore alimentare per la prevenzione e la gestione del diabete mellito
Diabetes mellitus is one of the major metabolic diseases worldwide and it is characterized by chronic hyperglycemia. The incidence of this disorder has been increasing in the last decades, affecting not only adults but children and adolescentes as well. Diet plays an important role in diabetes prevention and management. A main approach to achieve this goal is represented by the consumption of products naturally producing a low glycemic response. The latter can also be controlled by developing foods that are formulated to exhibit such an effect. Since in vivo analyses are costly and time-consuming, one of the most promising methodologies to evaluate the effectiveness of process interventions aimed at producing low glycemic index foods is represented by in vitro digestion. The aim of this paper is to describe the most important factors affecting the glycemic response, the most common technological strategies applied to manage diabetes, as well as the methods used to evaluate their effectivenes
VALIDATION OF DIGLYCERIDE CONTENTS IN CHEESES USING CO-ORDINATED CHROMATOGRAPHIC TECHNIQUES
This paper describes a method suitable for the analysis of diglycerides (DG) in cheese. The method, also suitable for other foods, is essentially based upon the solid-phase extraction (SPE) of DG followed by capillary gas chromatographic analysis with a polar stationary phase (TAP). SPE is applied to avoid the column overloading caused by triglycerides; however, SPE is able to catalyse isomerization from the 1,2-form to the 1,3-form. This introduces an error into the results, as the two forms have different origins and are produced at different stages of ripening. A comparison between the use of silica and diol phases was made and it was seen that no isomerization occurred when the diol phase was used. Repeatability and recovery trials were carried out and the coefficient of variation (relative standard error) of the former trial was approximately 10%. Finally, it is demonstrated that it is possible to re-use the SPE cartridge at least four times

Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
