TAXONOMIC, CHOROLOGIC AND COENO-ECOLOGIC FEATURES OF THE ALCHEMILLA COLORATA SPECIES
Monographic research on the Alchemilla genus has been motivated by its complexity. Alchemilla species are mountainous, subalpine and alpine plants, perennial, small to medium. Their identification is usually difficult. The aim was to find new characters and criteria for the most precise delimitation of the different microspecies. Apart from the delimitation and description of species of this genus and in addition to morphological criteria, other criteria are required, such as ecology, chorology, phytogeography, karyology etc. Alchemilla colorata, analyzed in this paper, is a microspecies that has separated itself from the aggregate species Alchemilla hybrida (L.) Mill. In addition to taxonomy information, ceno-ecological characteristics and new data on the chorology of this taxon in the Romanian Carpathians are presented.Â
COMPLEX OBSERVATIONS ON THE ALCHEMILLA GLABRA SPECIES
The paper presents the characterization of the species Alchemilla glabra Neygenf. from the taxonomic, chorologic, ecologic, coenologic and even blastogenic point of view
TAXONOMY, CHOROLOGY, ECOLOGY AND COENOLOGY OF THE ALCHEMILLA MONTICOLA SPECIES
For some polymorphic genera, such as Alchemilla (Fam. Rosaceae), widespread over large areas, it can be said that the taxonomy of species is difficult. Therefore, the aim was to know the Alchemilla species from the Romanian Carpathians in all aspects, in relation to the complex researches that are carried out from a taxonomic point of view at European level. The species Alchemilla monticola, presented in this paper, is thoroughly analyzed from the taxonomic, ecologic, chorologic, coenologic and even plantlet points of view. New additions have been made in respect of the chorology of this taxon in the Romanian Carpathians

MEDICINAL PLANTS FROM GREENHOUSES COLLECTION "AL. BUIA" BOTANICAL GARDEN (NOTE II)
In the paper are presented the medicinal plants from the greenhouses collection of Botanical Garden "Al. Buia" from the University of Craiova. The species existing in the collection are better known as ornamental plants than as medicinal plants. These taxa with ornamental and medical value were obtained largely through the exchange of plant material between the Botanical Garden and other similar institutions
MEDICINAL PLANTS FROM GREENHOUSES COLLECTION "AL. BUIA" BOTANICAL GARDEN OF THE UNIVERSITY OF CRAIOVA (NOTE I)
In this paper are presented the medicinal plants from the greenhouses Botanical Garden "Al. Buia" of the University of Craiova. In the greenhouses collection there are exotic plants, well identified, obtained over time from seed or cuttings in the exchange of plant material between the Botanical Garden and other similar institutions in the country or abroad. Knowledge of all aspects of these exotic plants and disseminating information to both specialists and the general public is one of the objectives of University Botanical Gardens. The species with therapeutic potential existing in collection Botanical Garden greenhouses are known in particular as ornamentals and less from the point of view of their use as medicinal plants
DATA ON THE PRESENCE OF INVASIVE AND POTENTIALLY INVASIVE ALOGEN PLANTS IN OLT COUNTY (ROMANIA)
The research carried out in Olt County regarding invasive and potentially invasive alogen plant species is a necessary step in order to complete the information on their distribution at the national level. The data obtained will be able to be used for a careful monitoring of these plants and the adoption of the necessary management measures regarding the eradication or prevention of their introduction and spread.
In this sense, an inventory of invasive and potentially invasive plant species identified on the territory of Olt county is presented, with information on the geographical origin, life form, biological form, an assessment of the degree of invasiveness, chorological data, habitat, as well as aspects related to the impact they exert on native vegetation, human health or the economy.
The preliminary analysis of the list of invasive and potentially invasive alogen plants identified in Olt County highlights, in particular, the presence of some species of concern for the European Union (such as Ailanthus altissima, Asclepias syriaca and Elodea nuttallii). Besides these, the most widespread invasive species found in Olt county are Ambrosia artemisiifolia, Robinia pseudoacacia, Morus alba, Amorpha fruticosa, Acer negundo, Amaranthus retroflexus, Erigeron annuus, E. canadensis, Lycium barbarum, Sorghum halepense, Xanthium orientale subsp.italicum. It is well known that the impact of invasive species on the environment, the economy and in some situations even on human health is major and that is why these organisms must be subject to an extensive and continuous monitoring process. Also, in order to control the introduction and spread of invasive and potentially invasive species, a series of appropriate management measures are required
NEW CHOROLOGICAL DATA FROM OLTENIA (ROMANIA) FOR APHANES AUSTRALIS RYDB. AND MONTIA FONTANA L. SUBSP. CHONDROSPERMA (FENZL) WALTERSSPECIES
In this paper we present the new chorological information from Oltenia (floristic province of Romania) for species Aphanes australis (Rosaceae) and Montia fontana subsp. chondrosperma (Portulacaceae), accompanied by some considerations from ecological and cenological points of view
THE LIST OF MAIN SPONTANEOUS MEDICINAL PLANTS FROM ROMANIA
The paper presents the list of spontaneous medicinal plants in Romania, for each taxon being indicated the scientific and vernacular name, the type of collection and plant organs collected. A special mention is made for medicinal plants in Romania that are included on the Red Lists. For these a series of recommendations are made regarding their collection from the spontaneous flora and special protection measures
THE FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE OF EUROPEAN COMPANIES: A COMPARATIVE APPROACH
The present study empirically examines the financial performance of European companies and tries to identify the profitability differences that exist between: enterprises with same profile, economic sectors and between several countries from the European Union. Based on data of the year 2009, the newest available on the BACH-ESD database, three financial performance main indicators are being calculated, namely: Return on Assets, Return on Equity and Net Margin. Results are discussed and compared with the ones obtained in former similar studies and some conclusions are drawn. The most performing sectors are found to be mining, quarrying, professional, scientific and technical activities, utilities and IT&C. The sectors that perform the worst are transport and storage, agriculture, accommodation and food service. As shown in other studies the most profitable and competitive companies in the sample belong to the Nederland, Belgium and Austria and the least profitable ones are situated in Italy and Portugal. As a complementary useful result of the study, the average values obtained for the three variables, in the various sectors considered, can be utilized for future comparisons, for assessing the financial performance of companies that belong to same sectors as those surveyed. This paper is a dissemination of the results obtained by the author in the doctoral program "The financial performance of EU member states' companies", coordinator: Professor Carmen Corduneanu, PhD, carried out within West University of Timişoara, Romania, in the period October 2010- July 2012.financial performance, return on assets, return on equity, net margin, BACH-ESD database
