No full textIl saggio prende le mosse dalla considerazione che la costruzione dell’identità di genere sia il prodotto di un sistema di rappresentazioni storicamente e culturalmente determinate, portatrici di significati e rivelatrici di sistemi simbolici e affronta dunque lo studio della fotografia non solo come fonte ma anche intesa come dispositivo capace di rifletterne i punti di vista e le concezioni e al contempo plasmarne gli immaginari.
Attraverso il tema del lavoro femminile, considerato uno spazio sociale di fondamentale importanza per lo sviluppo e la messa alla prova di idee e stereotipi sui ruoli femminili, il saggio ha analizzato gli immaginari fotografici, intesi (nel senso lato che corrisponde grosso modo al francese imagerie) come i complessi socialmente condivisi e accettati delle immagini relative ad un certo argomento, secondo un arco cronologico che procede dall’inizio del ’900 fino agli anni ’60. Si tratta infatti di periodo storico connotato dall’intensità delle trasformazioni a livello sociale e culturale e dalla rapidità, complessità ed articolazione della transizione fra tradizioni consolidate e innovazioni radicali, dove il racconto fotografico del lavoro femminile può rivelare persistenze e cesure a livello di iconografie e modelli di rappresentazione e autorappresentazione

Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
No full textWe conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
