THE CONCEPT OF ISYQ REFLECTED IN MRS GUMP’S TEACHING IN MOVIE ENTITLED FORREST GUMP

It appears as amovement of thought that opposes rationalism and intellectualism regime with deep roots in Western philosophy. Spirit of freedom is the soul of existentialism.Existentialism itself has two main branches, Atheistic and Theistic. The main difference is atheistic existentialism refuses God for human freedom, while theistic existentialism believes that by accepting the God, human beings can get their freedom. Theistic existentialism theory covers two main points, which are acceptance of God in freedom and concept of isyq and sawal. It explains about the existence of God as an individual with the creative activity, the existency of human as a free and responsible individual, and the existency of God which is not an obstacle for human’s freedom. Isyq is a condition of a human being which follows his freedom and does not give up in any condition, while Sawal is a condition of a human being which escapes from his freedom and gives up to the condition without any struggle. Based on those backgrounds, the writer wants to focus the study on the isyq concept which are reflected in Mrs.Gump’s teaching and its influence to Forrest’s life from the movie entitled Forrest Gump. From Mrs.Gump’s teaching, it can be seen that the concept of Isyq is reflected on it. That reflection and also its manifestation in Forrest’s life are interesting to analyze.In the study, the writer uses Alim Ruswantoro (2004) Theory related with the concept of isyq. The study shows that the concept of isyq reflected in Mrs. Gump’s way in teaching Forrest Gump. Mrs. Gump teaches Forrest that existency of God as an individual with creativity is not an obstacle for human existency, and a human being has his freedom to act, and never give up in any condition. The concept of Isyq theory that reflected in Mrs. Gump’s way of teaching makes Forrest to be able to achieve the same thing as the other normal people and show his existence to the world.The writer suggest the next researchers to analyze The concept of isyq in other media, such as in novel or poetry. The writer also hopes the next researchers add any other theories in existentialism to enrich the knowledge for those who read the thesis. Â

Eksistensialisme muncul sebagai gerakan pemikiran yang menentang rasionalisme dan intelektualisme rezim dengan akar yang dalam di filsafat Barat. Semangat kebebasan adalah jiwa dari eksistensialisme. Eksistensialisme sendiri memiliki dua cabang utama, ateistik dan teistik. Perbedaan utamanya adalah eksistensialisme ateis menolak keberadaan tuhan atas kebebasan manusia, sedangkan eksistensialisme teistik percaya bahwa dengan menerima Tuhan, manusia bisa mendapatkan kebebasan mereka. Teori eksistensialisme teistik mencakup dua hal pokok, yaitu menerima tuhan di dalam kebebasan dan konsep isyq dan sawal. Ini menjelaskan tentang keberadaan Tuhan sebagai individu yang kreatif, eksistensi manusia sebagai individu yang bebas dan bertanggung jawab, dan eksistensi tuhan yang bukan merupakan kendala bagi kebebasan manusia. Isyq adalah kondisi manusia yang mengikuti kebebasan dan tidak pernah menyerah di dalam kondisi apapun, sementara Sawal adalah kondisi manusia yang melarikan diri dari kebebasan dan menyerah dengan kondisi tanpa perjuangan apapun. Berdasarkan latar belakang tersebut, penulis ingin memfokuskan kajian tentang konsep isyq yang tercermin dalam ajaran Mrs.Gump dan pengaruhnya terhadap kehidupan Forrest dari film berjudul Forrest Gump. Dari ajaran Mrs.Gump ini, dapat dilihat bahwa konsep isyq tercermin di dalamnya. Refleksi dan juga manifestasinya di dalam kehidupan Forrest menarik untuk di analisa Dalam kajian ini, penulis menggunakan teori Alim Ruswantoro (2004) yang berkaitan dengan konsep isyq. Kajian ini menunjukkan bahwa konsep isyq tercermin dalam cara Mrs Gump dalam mendidik Forrest Gump. Mrs Gump mengajarkan Forrest bahwa eksistensi Tuhan sebagai seorang individu dengan kreativitas bukan merupakan kendala bagi eksistensi manusia, dan manusia memiliki kebebasan untuk bertindak, dan tidak pernah menyerah di dalam kondisi apapun. konsep isyq yang tercermin dalam cara Mrs Gump mendidik membuat Forrest bisa mencapai kesuksesan yang sama seperti orang-orang normal lainnya dan menunjukan existensinya kepada dunia Penulis menyarankan peneliti selanjutnya untuk menganalisis konsep isyq di media lain, seperti dalam novel atau puisi. Penulis juga berharap para peneliti selanjutnya menambahkan teori lain di eksistensialisme untuk memperkaya pengetahuan bagi mereka yang membaca tesis nya

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
