Babin, alleged that he was dismissed unjustly, contrary to sections 240-2 of the Canada Labour Code, by the Employer, Day and Ross Inc. with whom he had been employed since October 13, 1993. From that date to his termination on February 8, 2000, the Complainant was a driver for the Employer, a trucking company, working out of its Dartmouth depot. Counsel for the Employer took the position that the Complainant had abandonned his employment and that I am therefore without jurisdiction to deal with this matter. Alternatively, the Employer took the position that the Complainant was disabled from performing his job and had never shown himself able to return to work

Soliton-like propagation in photorefractive crystals with large optical activity and absorption
No full textWe have found analytical solutions of the light propagation equations in photorefractive materials with strong optical activity and absorption. These solutions show the occurrence of breathing solitons in sillenite crystals with strong optical activity and absorption in two particular orientations with respect to the external electric field. The absorption is decreasing the soliton intensity with the propagation distance (which set a limit in the soliton channel length), is increasing the breathing period, and is changing the soliton width (in inverse relations, at low and high intensities). Our experimental results confirm the analytical solutions and the numerical simulations, as well as the importance of the optical activity and absorption in solitonlike propagation

No full textAbstrakt Tato práce je zaměřena na analýzu spotřeby domácností v letech 1995 -- 2013 a cílem práce je odhalit vztah mezi spotřebou domácností a hrubým domácím produktem. Pomocí souhrnných dat z Českého statistického úřadu je v této práci ukázáno, že spotřeba domácností je nejpodstatnější složkou výdajů na celkovou spotřebu a následně i hrubého domácího produktu. Spotřeba domácností je zároveň velmi stabilní položkou ve statistice hrubého domácího produktu, která zaznamenává malé výkyvy během sledovaného období. Zároveň objem peněžních prostředků vydaných na spotřebu domácností vykazuje převážně rostoucí charakter.Abstract This Bachelor's thesis is focused on analysis of households consumption between 1995 -- 2013 and aim of this work is to expose relation between households consumption and gross domestic product. The Author uses database of Czech Statistical Office and reveals that households consumption is the most significant part of expenditures on final consumption and gross domestic product. Households consumption is also very stable part of gross domestic product and therefore households consumption shows small fluctuations during defined period. The amount of funds has mostly increasing progress
