BAB 2025 New Bauhaus on Balkan [žiriranje]
Balkan Architectural Biennale 2025 was held in Belgrade, SALON OF BELGRADE CITY MUSEUM, from 12 to 20 of November 2025. Balkan architects, urbanists, and designers showcased their work in several categories: architecture, urbanism, interior design—realized and unrealized—278 works in competition for awards and 300 works in total; furniture design—5 works; and publication—29 works. It was opened by Art Hist. Marko Stojanović, BAB representative; Dr Arch Tatjana Mrđenović, BAB commissioner; Prof. Dr Florian Nepravishta, national commissioner for Albania; and Ivana Petronijević, representative of general sponsor ALUMIL. The Biennale showcased the diverse talents and innovative approaches of Balkan creatives in the field of architecture and design regarding the overall topic NEW BAUHAUS ON BALKAN.NEW BAUHAUS ON BALKAN was the overarching theme of BAB 2025, which was conceived by BAB commissioner Dr Tatjana Mrđenović: “This Biennial exhibition enlightened Bauhaus ideals among Balkan architecture: sustainability, eco-design, community engagement, globalism and local identities, embracing the Bauhaus principles of simplicity, functionality, and holism. Awarded designs and publications showed adaptation to NEB ideals within unique cultural contexts, creating buildings and approaches that are both modern, addressing the NEB Agenda, and rooted in tradition. Sustainability was also a key focus, incorporating green design features and energy-efficient technologies. Community engagement was another important aspect, with architects and residents working together to create inclusive spaces that are inviting and reflective of the local identity.“Members of the international professional jury in the categories of architecture, urbanism and interior design were:
