    Agarwood (A. malaccensis Lamk.) is one of the important tropical forest trees, which produces a high economically valuable fragrant resinous wood. The increase of agarwood demand from year to year leads to uncontrolled illegal harvest of this plant from its natural habitat. To encounter this problem, there is an urgent need to develop agarwood plantation. Tissue culture is an alternative method to provide genetically good seedlings for plantation in the future due to its short period and mass quantity of planlet production. In addition, through this method, its might also provide homogenous plant, and free pest and diseases. The objectives of the study were (1) to find out the optimal concentration of BAP or TDZ for inducing shoot multiplication of agarwood in in vitro conditions. MS (Murashige And Skoog, 1962), was used as basal media. The experimental design of the research was completely randomized design (RAL) with treatment of BAP concentration ( control; 0,50 ppm; 0,75 ppm; 1,0 ppm) or TDZ concentration (control; 0,25 ppm; 0,50 ppm; 0,75 ppm), in 3 units, of replicate every units consist of 4 bottles, every bottle containing one explants coming from axillaries and adventitious shoot explants. Results indicated that two types of agarwood explants grown in vitro in MS basal media containing BAP 0,50 ppm or TDZ 0,25 ppm produced the highest number of shoots and leaves of agarwood plantlets, as well as its plantlet shoot lengt

    Pulau Sumatera merupakan salah satu pulau di Indonesia yang dilalui oleh pertemuan lempeng yang menyebabkan banyak terbentuk bukit-bukit yang miring. Salah satu Provinsi yang ada di Pulau Sumatera adalah Sumatera Barat. Dari kondisi geografis dan geologis ini menyebabkan Sumatera Barat menjadi wilayah dengan potensi bencana (hazard potency) yang besar seperti gempa bumi, tsunami, longsor, banjir, gunung meletus dan lain sebagainya. Beberapa waktu belakangan ini terjadi beberapa bencana di daerah Sumatera Barat seperti, letusan gunung berapi, banjir lahar dingin dan juga longsor. Bencana longsor terjadi pada beberapa ruas jalan di Provinsi Sumatera Barat, di antaranya adalah pada kawasan Lembah Anai, Sitinjau Lauik, dan Malalak. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, maka salah satu solusi yang dapat dilakukan pada wilayah ini adalah dengan merancang Dinding Penahan Tanah Kantilever + Dinding MSE dengan perkuatan geotekstil sebagai usaha untuk pencegahan tanah longsor. Berdasarkan hasil dari penelitian ini didapatkan stabilitas internal geotekstil dengan spasi vertikal (sv) 1 m, panjang lapisan (L) = 6 m, dan panjang lipatan (l1) 1m. Didapatkan faktor keamanan MSE terhadap guling sebesar 2, terhadap geser sebesar 1,5 dan terhadap daya dukung sebesar 2,5. Desain DPT Kantilever yang memenuhi syarat dengan tinggi dinding (H) 8 m, tinggi slab (D) 0.8 m, lebar dasar slab (B) 4 m, lebar atas toe (B1) 1,33 m, lebar atas (B4) 0,5 m, dan lebar atas heel (B3) 1,87 m. Didapatkan faktor kemanan stabilitas DPT Kantilever terhadap guling sebesar 2,725, terhadap geser 1,514, dan terhadap daya dukung sebesar 11,094. Dari software Plaxis 2D V22 didapatkan nilai faktor keamanan secara keseluruhan (SF = 1,508), yang berarti desain yang telah dirancang aman dari potensi terjadinya keruntuhan dan dapat digunakan sesuai fungsinya

    Abstrak 1 Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk (1) mengetahui karakteristik permasalahan di Tahura Sultan Syarif Hasyim (2) Merumuskan alternatif strategi pengelolaan Tahura Sultan Syarif Hasyim. (3) Menentukan strategi prioritas yang dapat direkomendasikan untuk dapat diterapkan dalam pengelolaan Tahura Sultan Syarif Hasyim. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Taman Hutan Raya Sultan Syarief Hasyim dengan metode survey dan pengambilan data purposive sampling . Analisis AHP terhadap pakar menunjukkan strategi yang paling utama adalah pengelolaan agroforestry dan ekowisata. Berdasarkan analisis SWOT, terdapat strategi operasional yang harus dilakukan oleh pemerintah (1) membuat regulasi yang mengatur tentang pengelolaan kawasan konservasi secara khusus (2) Pengembangan mengatur tentang pengelolaan kawasan konservasi secara khusus (2) Pengembangan ekowisata dan agroforestry berbasis masyarakat (3) Mengoptimalkan dukungan masyarakat dan pemerintah dalam pengelolaan Tahura SS
